I just recently got an iPhone 4S with my income taxes and I use my phone for everything! I am a stay at home mom of 5, sell Avon, and I go to school, so I stay quite busy. It helps me with my homework, my kids' homework, games, calling for kids and business purposes mostly, texting my personal contacts, keeping track of what I eat and my exercise, social networking, etc! I love my new iPhone!

I know there are a lot of people out there who use their phone for just about everything except making calls... Text/instant messages, Internet, games, music, camera, social networks, emails, etc... I personally don't listen to music or play games on my phone... Matter in fact, I might be one of the few that do exactly what you said, voice calling & text messages... Even at that, I really don't like text messages but I do use it for work reasons a lot... Past few years, I've used smart phones, blackberry & few different versions of iPhones, but that was because of my work... Once my position @ work has changed, I changed my phone to something simple...

I use a Sony Ericsson W205 which I bought for texting and calling only. It is a great phone with Music (Walkman) as a bonus. Camera quality is average but for my budget it was okay. I also wanted some phone which would looks stylish and fashionable and it just brought it home. I was very happy with it and still using it for the past 3 and half years without much problem. It just sometime gets slow and battery is no good as before but still stands for 2 days unlike the 5 days before. There is option for net and pre installed games but I never used them. It is a great phone for me and I don't have any urge to change it so soon. Phone was invented for calling and texting only at first but now a days everybody wants all-in-one device and thats increasing our demands decreasing our bank balance and so on.

An mobile acts as a good all rounder in cricket. A good mobile has the capability to do our needs. I use my mobile for messaging, surfing, calling, hearing music, capturing and i love doing them a lot.

Before, we could say that cellular phones are merely for calling and short messaging but now, it already evolves until we come up with this gadgets that could let us browse the internet, send voice messages and text messages for free, video conferencing, 3D gaming, chatting, etc. it was invented to make man's life more convenient and easier. So it means that these latest phones are not just for calling your friends or sending them messages only but also it enables you to access the latest generation of technology in a hassle free way on the same time. Just like me, since I have a phone that could let me browse the internet(and access mylot and facebook), download music, shop online, locate places through GPS, etc. then why not use it? we have to avail everything that we have today because this would give us the key to access the inventions or the developments in the near future.

Actually no. Since I'm using a smart phone these days, aside from text messages and calls, I use my phone to check on the internet, take pictures and videos, listen to music, read ebooks, Facebook, Twitter, play games, memo, reminders, notes, check and reply to emails, even blogging.
With today's technology, it's a shame to just use your phone for simply sending message and calling (unless of course your phone can only do those things)
