My vacation schedule is coming and i am planning to spent it at home and somewhere new to me. I want to experience a sort of adventure going in a strange place alone. But it scares me, all i want is to have an idea what that place like before ill go. I am thinking if is it wise to Google the place where i am planning to go.

familiarity would be an advantage when you are on a trip to a certain place, and googling to find information as to the local culture or geography would surely be of great help as it would give you ease of accessing what route to take, what places need to be looked up, etc.

I always search the place I am traveling to, to find out the weather, what I should pack, the different sights to see, events happening during my stay, which hotel I want to stay at, what is close to my hotel etc etc etc. It makes your trip a whole lot more enjoyable if you have an idea about what's going on and where you are staying. I book tickets in advance online as well. For example I was going to Tennessee and I booked my tickets for the Grand Ole Opry show online to reserve good seats a month before I left my home. The internet is a wonderful tool for travelers!

No problem with using internet to search for information. Infact, I just came back last Saturday from one week holiday and I searched all information on the internet including the hotel and the tour company that was to take me around once I reached the destination. You will also find recommendations made by other people who have visited the same place that you would like to go.

Yes. It is wise to do research before going to the place where you'll be staying. But the pictures in the internet are kind of deceiving because they don't post the actual pictures of the sites. The pictures in the internet may not look the same as the actual place. They exaggerate the pictures so that it will attract a lot of tourists who are staying for a vacation. So be careful. Inquire to those people who have stayed in that place and get accurate feedback from them.
