Ah, part of my routine, i read the news in MSN and this is what I read as a headline just a few seconds ago! Wow! I am speechless for a second, then suggendly i chuckled... for the mistake whew! Apparently, there was a newscaster thaat reportedly advised that the whole country belonged to China "undisputedly". I wonder what this would now contribute to the existing dispute going on with the Philippines and China over scarborough shoals - a territory both country is claiming. http://news.ph.msn.com/regional/china-tv-claims-philippines-as-chinese-territory Guess what? lots of chineses have commented on this as well, oh i wish this can be settled, and soon.

I'm really worried about this growing issue, and very sad as well. I'm from the Philippines, and those comments I've read from your link worries me a lot, to the point that I'm fighting back tears now. I don't want war, and more fights but I know that's impossible. Disputes between countries are not foreign in my ears but I've lived all my life in country peacefully, and I'm really grateful to the power above to have given me my life in a peaceful era. But these news and issues disappoints and frightens me, I know many Filipinos feel the same way too. And many would fight tooth and nails, whether verbally or physically when push comes to shove. I've read many flaming and hating comments from both sides and these worries me more. The least that they could do is too add fuel to the flames. Defend their own country in a diplomatic way! Insulting both sides wouldn't do any good to this issue anyway. Everyone want to be respected, but we should earn it right? So we should know how to respect others too, these words are not for Chinese too, but for Filipinos as well. Make love not War!

It is becoming very alarming. this particular news did not get to the local media, as it might be (i expected they would show it somehow) but with the growing tension between the our country and theirs. I even heard in the news this morning about the press release of China and ours too. Im worried the word war is not going to help clear the issue... latest was we are asking for help - but US could not care less about this. its just not going to happen.. its election time in the US the last thing obam needs is for americans to think they are meddling with other countries' affair again and they have a problem of their own.

I haven't read the news but I am not new to this topic. I'd like to think of these people more as radicals rather than patriots. I think every country and religion has these. It's not really a laughing matter, although I still find it horribly ridiculous, and I do hope that this will be settled in a diplomatic way. Nobody really wins in a war. It's just a game of business and politics, where the cost is mostly human lives.

you bet, nobody wins in a war, and to add to that, our country could not afford this... our budget of course would not be able to hold to this, our military even... there is only but one way for the Philippines and we have to admit it - we have to have a talk with them for this to be resolved, talks from and to should not even be allowed as it may already be out of hand - now that people have their own opinions about it./

It's really sad for our part though as the only option we really have is to offer diplomatic agreements, therefor having the possibility of offering China options that are exploitable. How I wish there would be other ways. I usually think positively on things, but on this one, I prefer to be realistic.

When two countries are in dispute of something, as in this case a territory, all this misinformation campaigns and provocations, are common, I donĀ“t think this is nothing to be taken all too seriously, although, I understand your concerns.

thankyou so much for your opinion... i think maybe we, as people do tend to over react over things.. =( i just feel that really we need our leaders to handle this with caution, i cannot speak for China... but i feel that our government is not doing quite a good job about the situation in Philippine's case.

It's plain and simple greed. Scarborough Shoal is very, very near the Philippines while China is thousands of kilometers away from the contested Scarborough Shoal. Why are they claiming this? I think they want to conquer in order to expand their territory. Hey, China, the world is watching!

I read it on the news. It is really big fault and not nice also. How they could do a big mistake like that when it is related to another country....

oh yeah, they have been really careless about this issue. i guess they were all cautious about everything else, except of course when it comes to other country being humiliated. i doubt if our government even request for them to apologize for it.

No one belongs to any one. We all have equal rights and privileges. I believe, Phillipines should exert some more effort to defend our sovereignty. I am against any abuse or any ambitious actions and I should do my part even how small it is.

But that is the problem, i mean, we can try but we can not guarantee what the outcome is going to happen... Our country must face that we are unable to defend our territory.

Hello Chiyosan, It was actually said by a female chinese News anchor regarding this kind of issue. i have watch the youtube video and it was nuts, they are obviously out of their minds, i think this is what happens when the Chinese Government totally owns the country with out press freedom, they make the press brainwashed and delushioned. though, it was a conversation in chinese unfortunately, one of our own people understand what they just said. not a referral link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiudNjxTdg4

Oh my dear Philippines.. what happened? Our government must do something before things get late. We have so many things to be taken cared of.. And for that woman, I am very sorry for her.. She might need a refresher course.

Yeah, as a reporter, in the frontline like that... she really has to make sure that she does what she is doing - or in this case... saying. And be careful with it too... its really hard to undo something like this, right? once you said it, how can you not say it? being sorry is okay.. but the commotion it caused is just going to break more relationship...

Its funny that some Chinese bloggers attributed her booboo for her being so 'patriotic'. I almost fell off my chair laughing. Like these stupid people can only say what their government wants them to say and they have a grand delusion that they are patriotic. Frankly, they are just like puppets and dogs on a short leash. Maybe eating too many fetus affected their puny brains.

Well i think that is something the Filipinos does have over others, i guess that is when one of our own does good things and gets known - we are happy for the person and take pride, if they do things such as this, of course we do not try to cover up whatever they did and say oh well... we can't be caught trying to say its part of wanting to win the battle...

This is really very weird. How can the Philippines possibly belong to China? totally not possible. I hope they just made a mistake and they are not serious about it.

Yup, that is right. it was a mistake by the reporter who said that the whole country is china's not the land china and philippines - or the scarborough shoal.

Think we just have to be thankful to God for the freedom of speech and media that we still enjoy and had fought very hard to earn. OMG if that happened in the Philipines, probably MTRCB( movie and television review classification board) would already suspend the program for making such an irresponsible and dangerous statement, perhaps she would be joining the band of brothers program that got suspended. We have something to be proud of and i would say really proud of, hope and pray that we do not sacrifice defending it again

I hope this won't break into war.. I mean, lots of innocent people will get killed if China will solve this thing through strength. It's such a sad thing to think of people getting killed just because of an island they both are claiming.. If war will happen, then no country will really win it but people in both will be the one who'll lose everything. :(

Apparently, we'd get to lose more as we are not equipped to handle their strength and power. i sure hope this indeed can be resolved in a good way, not by force.

I don't know what to think. If should I laugh or be mad of what Chinese people are talking about. They own the whole Philippines? Oh God, they must be crazy. They're just making the whole problem bigger and I am hoping that they would settle this nonsense ASAP.

Philippine belong to China, may be that newscaster had just crawled out from his cave after long period of hibernation. hehehe.... that must be the most absurd news i ever read for this week. China may have reconstructed a new world map for its domestic users and media network in the year 2012, that places all Philippine's island within the great red China's territorial boundary. You bet next year, there will be another new world map that will include another smaller neighbor under China sovereignty.

oh that may be possible, that they have or is actually instilling some false ideas and facts to their people.. thus the wrong information, and the arrogant way of not accepting a fault such as this... a whole country being claimed by them...

It is not even a secret spreading and teaching distorted historical and present facts are part of the technique communist party like to use to compliment a false idealogy as the state's propagada machine go in full force. Many countries within South China Sea are indeed part of the territory of red China in the official's world map, not just Phillippine. Recent deadly naval confrontation in South Korea is just an example distorted facts are deliberately taught in school and widely sprtead within communist society is not something new and uncommon.

I watched it after you posted it here in mylot. It is hard to comment now because I don't understand their language but from what I read in youtube and elsewhere, the reporter apparently just made a mistake. She was referring to the Scarborough Shoal after all. What's making us rage (I guess) are the comments of some of the Chinese people. Instead of accepting their fault on this one, they turn it into their own definition of 'nationalistic act'. Well, nobody really wins in war. I hope God will touch our souls so we could all accept humility and humanity.

China is the number one economy in asia right now. They could even start a nuclear war if they want. We just need to make diplomatic terms here. USA is just boasting its military power here and we know Philippines depends on the US. But still proud of Filipinos.

I am shocked at CHina being such a bully over the Shoal. I had no idea that propoganda was being tossed around over there like it is. I too, feel bad for what the Fillipino people are going through. I hope you all better days and wish you all Gods Blessings in these terrible days before Gods return.
