Go to flee market. You can buy second hand items at a very cheap price. You can refurbish some of the old furniture. You don't have to buy new items.

Buy each of the materials in each month. This help you to get the things per month and it also helps to meet your other needs and if you find money after all your uses keep the money safe for the next purchase.

Where are you? Do you have a Salvation Army or second hand store? check them out. And you can call and ask them for furnishings. Here is US where I live you can. I would go to your church or a church and see if they have a program to help lower income people.

Hey. I am not poor enough to take the help of any charity.
I am Accountant in a real eatate organization. A well known organization in India.
And alo having it's business in Australia.
So don't thing about any charity program.
Every salaried person can't buy all items required to him/her.
So that I asked here which item I have to buy first.

Hi Believe, I think you are trying to buy too many things that are not really necessary for life.
Actually in many parts of the world, people do not have a bed to sleep on.
They sleep on the floor, and they just need a mattress for it.
when they wake up in the morning, they just gather all the mattresses and lean them against the wall.
These free up space for the room.
In fact, there is no difference between sleeping on a bed and on the floor.
I have tried both, and I like to sleep on the floor.
The kitchen stuffs are not necessary, as long as you get a Swiss knife tool set, and a bowl, plus a plate.

I can afford all the items.
My question is which I have to buy first.
I am not here asking about how to live with small income.

You should search around at your local thrift stores and where people sell items like that at a cheaper rate. Buying furniture is expensive. You will have to be patient and look for the right price that is within your means.

That is a big dilemma. Perhaps if you could find a few thrift stores or maybe if they have garage sales in your country you could find some things that way. I'm not sure if there are such a thing in India though. I would suggest to look there though if you can. Perhaps if you buy one thing a week it won't be so hard on your budget. I wish you the best of luck with it, and I bet the change feels good. I wish I could change many of the rooms here, starting with the old living room which is the worst.

Is there any possibility you can get hand-me-downs from family, look at thrift stores, look at garage/yard sales, or get some financing? We all need stuff but it takes time to accumulate things we do and don't need. Don't worry it'll come along.

In your situation I would start by writing a list. Don't think about the money at first, just write down all of the things that you want to buy. When you have the list look at it and pick out the most of important things (= the things that you really need in your daily life for instanse things for the kitchen) and make those things your first priority. Afterwards you have to look at your salary and find out exactly how much money you will be able to spend on things for your room per month, and make a plan according to that.
My friend was in your situation and she couldn't afford chairs or a bed in the beginning, so she sat on the floor and slept on a mattress. She saved part of her salary every month and little by little she bought the things that she wanted. You can do the same thing, but make sure to buy the most important things first. Good luck with your new room

Thanks for wonderful suggestion. I am impressed with your friend's patience.
Sometimes we can't wait for more time.
We all think about to buy whatever we want on installments. Which we can pay easily from monthly salary.

That is most common problem nowadays since everything in the market are already pricely. But what you need to do first is try to recheck your budget. List the needs and the wants. Identify from your list which among in the most needed thing (meaning the thing that is must have or food)and which are least that will be considered wants. Sometimes we need to sacrifice something from the need to be able to get the project that we really wanted to have since we consider it as a need already like kitchen utensils. But if you have something to use still then do not buy right away, just keep the money first and later on it will be added by more then that's the time you decide which item that you need to purchase first.
You do not need to buy right away like bed if you are living on your own, since as long as you have bed foam it will already do.
I even notice Chinese people sleep without a bed just using matresses.
just be patient, buy the things one by one, later you will just realize that you already have everything you need in your room.

I would start out with dollar stores and only getting what you need right away the rest can wait over the next few months. Like you need 1 or 2 things to cook with, a few plants and if its just you then you don't need many. Then on course you need something to sleep on and some towels for bathing and the important stuff the rest comes later. Dollar stores are great for getting things when you first move in to a few place especially the first place.

The most right thing that you can do in facing this type of problems is that you will get a piece of paper and write the things that you are planning to buy, then in each of those items place the daily benefits that it can give you in your everyday routines. Then read what you have wrote and simply buy the stuffs first that can benefit you most. The purpose of the writing part is just to help you analyze well on which item you needed the most.

Write down all the items you need, then shop around for the time being. Check your local furniture stores, online and whatnot to find the best price. Talk to the stores about layaway or payment plans, where you make affordable payments monthly based on your income.
Fingerhut.com also bases their payment system the same way a credit line would from a store, where they check your credit and determine how much you owe a month or they give you a set price based on the object. Good luck, try walmart for some of the kitchenware and stuff.

Have you tried some garage sales? I love them!! You really don't need much money you can almost all the time find a good deal with hardly any money And also if you have some thrift stores around you you could try some of those too, here we have so many garage sales in the spring ans summer and there are so many thrift stores here too, I really don't know what I would do without them?

Make first things first.
Write down what necessary stuff you need to buy first and like other mylotters suggestion, check for garage sale.
There are many things from garage sale that are really cheap and even branded ones.
Buy one at a time- no need to hurry up for other things that are not so important.

I am not sure where you live, but have you tried Craig's List or free recycle. I have gotten some great deals on Craig's List and from the free recycle I have really done well. I would also try thrift stores and garage sales. They are great places to get deals as well. The only thing I do not recomend you buying second hand is a bed because I did that once and had cronic back pain for several months. I buy dressers, tables, bookcases, and appliances second hand.

Buy one by one. Buy what u really need in urgent 1st. Buy what you need for the beginning, and when all the urgent need is done, u can buy what u want.
