Most people who read or have read the Bible have a favorite verse. Some people have several. Here are a few of mine:
Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
These verses are just a few that help me to be who I need to be.
What are some of your favorite verses?

I too think the first chapter of the gospel of John to be fascinating, pretty much ahead of the time when it was written and even ahead of our time. And i like the psalms and the Wisdom of Solomon but that is not a part of the canon in the protestant - neo protestant churches.

When I think of a favorite verse, the first one that comes to mind is Philippians 4:13 too. It's very common to go through tough times and need the encouragement, so this verse is very uplifting! I also like knowing that even though it might be hard now, things will always get better.

Thanks, Cloud! You're right - it's a verse that really makes a person think. I try to always look at the positive in every situation. That's really hard sometimes, so I try to think on this verse. I've heard the saying that when you're as low as you can be, the only direction to go is up! I'm glad you're encouraged by this verse also!

Isn't it wonderful to know that we serve a God so big that we can do ALL THINGS through His son! That makes me feel pretty unstoppable! No matter what challenge I face in life, I know He's right by my side ready to give me a hand. Though I do not deserve it, He loves me enough to be there anyway!

That verse is a promise from God to us. God is our Heavenly Father. How many times do children say to their dads "Dad, remember you promised." I find it helpful to remind God of His promises. Not that He forgets, but letting Him know I remembered and I am coming to Him asking for my desire. This has worked so many times in my life. Every time it does, it is my Heavenly Father showing me that He hears me and His grace is limitless!

Psalms 19:14
May the words from my mouth and the thoughts from my heart
be acceptable to you, God, my rock and my defender.
I like what ever thought we can have that is inline with Gods will. A thought can be good and something achievable. Words can mean something, even be powerful and approved.
Perhaps words if we think of them as important or meaningful can actually be so? Who has not been moved if they think the words expressed by another are sincere by just three simple words whispered into an ear?

Every time I leave the cupboard door open and forget about it and bump my head on it, every time the cold slushy snow goes over my boot, every time my neighbourhood dog does his business where he shouldn’t, I should think of something to say that is much better than what gets said but I hope God understands and can help me with my intemperance.
I know what I’m reading is what is right but still I’m not always doing what it says. That is not to say I can’t keep trying.

This is so true. It goes right along with Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things. God hears our words and knows our thoughts; everything we think, say, and do, should be to His glory and edifying to Him!
Great Verse!
