I have finished this game. Well yes I have to say that this is one of the scariest ones I've played (though SH2 still remains the best horror game for me 
)
If you are easily scared then yes you might scream, if you are not then you might not scream but you probably get scared.
The thing, that you don't have any weapons in the game, adds more to the building up fear in the game, since whenever you encounter an enemy you end up running around and hiding.
If you do like this game you should also try the previous ones by frictional games, the penumbra series, both First Person Adventure Horror games too

I agree with jed0 the fear of whats coming and the wait is what really kills you.
Your mind plays tricks and starts making up situations.

Heard it's the scariest game ever made. Will give it a try for sure when I buy a new computer.

This game.... Yoah !! It doesn't quite feel like a game when you crank the volume up its dark and everyone is asleep. Its scary as hell that game. The ambience and atmosphere . Its all made to freak you out and it works really well.
Keep a pair of pants extra on you ;)
