All of us be it our immediate family, or personal friends & acquaintances, or just here at Mylot, have heard this term GLOBAL-WARMING a million times. But frankly except for the word meaning what do we really know about it? If our neighbor asks us how do we explain it to them. How do we point out the real issues and its remedies. What are included and what are excluded in calculating a carbon footprint. What are the offsets available? Can we as an individual make any significant difference to it and how?
Please enlighten all of us with your knowledge.

Yes, there is a lot of misinformation about this topic around now. Governments & organizations who should know better are propogating the myth that global warming is caused by carbon dioxide when it clearly is not. Look up any government website & it will tell you how to calculate a carbon footprint & the inclusions thereof. This is dispite there being a plethora of reports & data collected & published & authorized by the United Nations, the ICCP & hundreds of scientists all over the world. These bodies come to the conclusion that the fastest, most efficient & effective means by which any individual anywhere in the world can make the most difference to global warming is to switch to a plant-based diet. The two biggest gasses that trap the most heat are emitted in by far the greatest quantities are by the livestock industry. Methane traps heat 72 times better than carbon dioxide & nitrous oxides nearly 300 times better. Stopping all forms of energy production & all forms of transportation will do absolutely nothing to halt global warming, except kill off all the world's economies. Why? Because it takes between 100 to 1000 years for carbon dioxide to leave our atmosphere, whereas methane has a life of about seven years. This has been very brief, but the solution is very simple. We have been living contrary to the natural laws of the universe for far too long now. We talk about over-population & food shortages & water shortages & water pollution, etc, etc, but these issues all have just one very simple soltion: swap your ignorant, dirty old habits for sustainable, life-enhancing, healthy & cost-effective new ones & switch to a plant-based diet today.
