Frequency of Updating Blogs

United States

I recently started a blog. It is about all things veg*n. ... I realize some people update their blog or create new posts for their blog daily and some weekly and a few people only monthly or very rarely. I tend to create new posts each week. I was wondering how often most people update their blogs and the ideal frequency in most people's eyes for updating their blog. Sometimes I post pictures but not always. Tell us about yours. (NO LINKS PLEASE, per MyLot guidelines.)

I think the ideal blog time is dependent on the type of blog post. For example, if a blog is about reviewing certain products, a blog post everyday, or even several days, seems appropriate. However, if the blog post is a discussion type, in which a topic is discussed upon, and asks users to respond to, I think every few days is best, so that users have a chance to reflect and respond upon the topic. Also the frequency is dependent on the topic of the blog. I think topics like business or technology, would be updated quite frequently because of the fast paced nature of the business with new products or news always coming out. Whereas lifestyle type blogs, such as vegan living, are more opinionated and a reflection of the author, so these can be slower paced.

Hello my friend Bethany1202 Ji, Internet surfing is only my hobby, where basically, I go far mail, replying letters, FB, and myLot. My time is very much limited and as such I hardly find time to think and spare for such things. Lastly my aim is not to earn money, I want to be part of your family. I always feel that I am living wherever you are. I am not aware of all those links and sites as well. May God bless You and have a great

For myself, I think that posting two to three times a week is ideal, but I seldom do it. Once a week is more like it and sometimes I go longer than that. I have a lot of excuses! I post pictures at times and am trying to get better about that. It's just laziness that keeps me from it for the most part. I feel like sometimes I make interesting posts and sometimes it's just drivel to fill a space. One of these days, I'll get serious about it. If one wants to have a popular blog, then the more often you post, the better. For most of us a blog is a place to share thoughts and events that interest us, but some people make good money with theirs. It takes commitment and being focused to do that, though.

I have a little site that I post on only when I have valuable information to share. I am not a professional blogger, just sharing ideas with others who are interested in the same topic.

I started a blog and tried to post new items every day, but it seemed to get harder and harder for me to keep up that pace. Now I only update it 2-3 per week (and sometimes less), although if I find that I have more to post in any given week, I will try to post more discussions. But it is hard to keep yourself motivated, so just do the best you can.

There was a time that I updated my blog like three times a day... crazy right? But I've seen people blogging 5-7 times daily. They are common students, not paid writer or sales. Perhaps the reason is students have much feelings and most of all: time.

A blog is basically an online journal. It can be used for several purposes from the exact, such as writing on a specific topic, to the general, recording your views and skills on a whole crowd of things. Whatever you pick to use your blog for, it is extremely vital you keep it updated. Preferably you should be aiming to put numerous posts on it a week. Why is this significant? Well an up-to-date blog is an effective blog, and eventually a profitable blog. Imagine a row of dominoes. The goal is for you to be able to bit that first domino and for all the others to fall down in turn. That leading domino is setting up your blog. The next domino is receiving traffic to your blog. The domino after that is setting up promotion on your blog. All the other dominoes after that signify the money coming in, optimistically. There is vast competition on the internet when it comes to blogs. Just setting up a blog does not assure an arrival of readers directly. Primarily you will have to wad your blog for all it is worth on all the social media you have at your fingertips such as your Facebook and Twitter account. Link it to as many related websites as possible so that readers of websites on the same topic as your blog know you are there and take a look. You can also extent the word with your friends and family.

Hello Bethany. I'm happy you had a blog. I am always planning to start my own blog too but there are many things that stops me. I guess I will have to stop attending writing workshops and reading articles about rules on writing/blogging. It confuses me and it doesn't help me boost my love for writing. Updating one's blog depends on the person. Some update theirs, weekly or monthly. It really depends on you. Happy Blogging! :)

At first I love blogging and I used to spent a lot of time with. I used to update my blog per day. I used to include good contents which are different from each others. This is what I used to do in my blog. Months passed in the same manner but I found out that it is very difficult to post new contents per day. So now I used to do them when I am only free
