Meet in person...i am worry a bit

I know one guy just by chatting Yahoo Messenger from last week. It is nice to talk with him and we did share many things in the life...He is an foreigner doing business in here and live near my place. He just asked me for meeting in person and have a cup of coffee together.
Yes, I do care him as a friend and we should meet in person. Of course talking using English is not a problem for both but... I am worry a bit when thinking of the meeting in person. I really don't know how i am when i meet him, what should i talk, blah blah,...
Do you guys have any experience of it?

I have experience meeting a person like that and it feels a little bit awkward at first but I remember I lately feel comfortable when we started our conversations and we started to laugh. Our first meeting become so memorable to us that until now we still seeing each other. Just want to give you advice dear, be yourself. Make sure that what things you are telling him about yourself when you chat is true. He/she will notice that you are not honest when he/she person meet you. Good luck...[b][/b][i][/i][u][/u]

hi ryanong, yes I have met a person I was chatting on line
with for a long time and we met playing games on line..
he worked for the subway system in NYC, he I met him one
warm summer afternoon while I was down near the train
system,,anyway based on his description, when I saw him
standing on the street,I started to keep driving, but that
would not have been right...besides I wasn't looking for a
husband, I just wanted to meet him as a friend and because
he was really a nice guy from communication on the phone..
We had plenty to talk about, we were adults at the time,
so there was general conversation...we went to a park
and it was nice...He could be my friend because he was
definately not my type of man...
He is now still my friend....

Thank your so much for your sharing. It is very nice when both you guys are still friend now.
Currently i care the guy as friend only, but i am a coward person, I don't talk much with strange people. He and I did chat but chatting and talking in person are different so that i am worry a bit when think of a meeting.

In case you hve been honest with this chat friend of yours, I see no reason of worry or this meeting being an issue. I did meet a fellow (okay aged and senior) mylotter in real life and trust me, the meet was like it wasnt the first meet... we seemed to know all about each other and I did feel comfortable with this senior mylotter.
We are now in regular contact and he calls me up almost every week and we do talk about the recent happenings in our lives. It is a great feeling to be cared for.

That's normal when you are about to meet a friend from online then in personal.Just be yourself when meeting him. You might feel uneasy at first but everything will gonna be alright.
Observe how does he react and how he manage to speak with you then you make him feel hes welcome to be your friend. Just relax and stay calm.

you should be really careful 'cause you never know what kind of stalker you can come across.I think it's better to go with a friend(best if a male friend) the first time you meet him just to be on the safe side.Aside from that if you say you get along just fine then you just need to be yourself :D
