Nothing can be more irksome than an afternoon siesta interrupted by a sudden cacophony. Drawing aside the curtains I saw a flock of shrilly chirping 'Mynas' being the cause of my discomfiture. Even as I was about to shoo them away, something in their shrill chirping caught my drowsy attention.
There were about six to seven pairs of them and each pair was sort of fighting with another pair, for a few seconds and then hopping up to the next pair or another and repeating the chirpy behavior. There were some beak fights too with one of the pairs trying to peck the other pair and getting pecked back too in the process.
Suddenly there seemed to me a lot of similarities in this bird fight. Just like it was a leaf straight out of a 'Mario Puzo's 'Godfather' book with members of two family out at each others throats. I watched them totally enthralled and trying to make some sense out of their fight and wondering if they too have human issues like Usurping properties, Infidelity, Bigamy, adultery, caste, class and color issues, children's problems.
What gave ground to my thought process was the fact that each pair was fighting another pair in tandem but never with each other, just like we humans have family feuds where we support our own and fight the opposing faction.
What do you think, is there a parallel animal kingdom out there?

This is interesting and would have been fascinating to witness. I enjoy watching our avian friends. I especially enjoy watching the antics of crows and mockingbirds.
I don't know if they have parallels with the humans, but it seems that I tend to compare the way they do things with the ways humans interact.
I like to watch the mockingbirds take turns dive bombing cats or dogs and taunting them in the process. I often make up my own voices for what they're saying as they taunt.
