Facebook is a nice social networking site where we can share news that we like or we though important. This news usually will usually spread fast when it has already enter social networking site because people who read it usually end up spread it again.
But the problem is, not all news in facebook ( or other social networking site ) is the truth. I see a lot of HOAX spread trough link sharing or facebook status. And since the one who spread it is a friend, people who read it just believe about the news and spread the hoax again without checking the news credibility.
Do you ever see hoax in your friend facebook status or facebook link sharing? What kind of hoax do you see? What did you do then?
Thanks for sharing

I can usually detect hoaes, as they are usually in English, and I'm Hungarian, and they write in Hungarian mostly. Sometimes also they send around chain mails, but those I can easily detect, because they are usually written with poor grammar, about the same topics...

Well thanks doroffee. Yes, at the time when chain mail so popular ( that are written in paper ), i actually got a few of them. It ask me to spread it or else something bad will happened at me. Off course i know it is just a hoax and don't want to spread it. It is funny people still fall to that kind of hoax.

I have seen some hoaxes - but only because there seem to be the hoax police out there in my friends list - and they will be the ones to look up these potential hoaxes. Then they will comment with the link (like to Snopes) to the proof that their status was a hoax. I can't remember the details, but I've seen stuff about certain viruses on the computer, or safety issues for women or whoever at the gas station, or even free stuff from a restaurant or store. So anyway, I read things, but I mostly don't do anything about it unless it's something truly suspicious that I need to tell my friend - because like I said, someone else will come up to knock down that status.

Well thanks much2say for sharing this information. Well it is good if you have people in your friend list who will check status that are potentially a hoax. I also, if see a status / link sharing, that are a hoax. I usually comment on them, and give the right status about what he post. It is a good thing to do that to avoid people getting more and more confuse.
