Are PTC sites worth the risk to your computer?

I have just spent all morning, and half of the afternoon scanning my computer for trojans, malware, adware, cookies...etc. Despite the fact that everyday I will run a scan to clean up after using PTC sites, I still managed to have over 50 tracers and some adware on my computer. I don't know if it is worth it to keep earning pennies with the very possible results of crashing my computer. Maybe I will cash out and stick to Mylot instead for my money making online. Thoughts?
