Why are some technical instructions so hard to follow

I've been writing and deciphering instructions from clients for a long time, but can't create a widget, and keep forgetting the difference between links, hyperlinks and referral links; well, referral links are easy. Now I have finally been approved by Chitika for ads on my blog, and I am having the hardest time to do the Ad set up. I don't understand all these numbers and figures and widths and heights and customizing my ads. I have written to Chitika and will see how long they take to answer. Can anyone help me with an Ad set up? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

This might not be the right place Samar, but it is not getting help in this spot either. But I have have to read my other responses so will see if this gets sorted.
