Having a pen-pal

I've always loved the idea of having a pen-pal, but I can never keep up with writing back to them. I'm not sure why: as a kid I continued writing to my friend in Germany for years, but I suppose now I don't have the time. Either I lose interest, or I stop hearing back from them after a while. I'd especially love to have a snail-mail pen-pal, but that takes even more time and effort to keep going than an email friendship. Do you write to anyone regularly?

When I was in my high school time,I do have a period writing letters to my old friends. But since we started to have different lives and meet new people,we gradually stop writing letters. But we are still good friends till today. We call each other and share things.I think the technology has destroyed our patients and then we lost the interests in writing to each other. We are always wishing to get a immediate reply.

I'd love a pen-pal, but then i think it's just email these days. I used to chat with this guy whose a friend of my friend and we chatted almost everyday for months, but then just stoped because both of us got busy with school.

One time when no "there" yet the e-mail, we used to say to have a pen-friend. You wrote by hand and dispatched to a person who probably, in real life, never met. Today, technology has come for us greatly. Bypassing the e-mail, we only Facebook, MSN or even the same Mylot. We also only in this site are constantly in contact with people from all over the world! The discourse of losing interest in writing letters to friends at a distance, may be due to the fact that, being able to more easily "meet" with new media. Perhaps we return always to the appointment letter.

Hi! I'm glad to know that some still use this form communication nowadays. I want to say that its sweeter to receive letter than receiving a text message. Right now, while I am on this training, my family would always write me even if they can text or call me. AS if they are not contented on just calling and texting me and the fact that they are just 10 km away from the training place. It's also good to keep the old tradition.

Oh my God! Having a pen pal was one of my childhood dreams, and I think until now I'm still up for it. I've never had one and I don't have anyone I send mails to although it would really be awesome if I'll have one. I like snail mails because it's thrilling and paper messages have more value to me than messages I've got through electronic devices, I think it's more intimate.

I always wanted a penpal when I was young but I wouldnt want one now. I dont really have anything to say to people like that who I do not know. The school my daughter goes to the second graders have pen pals they write to once a month in a school about 15 miles from ours. On the 17th of this month they get to go meet their pen pal. They spend the day at their school playing with them and having lunch with them. It sounds so fun for the kids. I think its an awesome thing they do for the kids.

I had many snail mail penpals when I was a teenager. Some of my penpals were from my own country and the rest of them were from other parts of the world. In our letters we talked about our lives and experiences and we changed photos, postcards and small presents. I met a few of my penpals and it was fun to meet them in person. Today I don't have any snail mail penpals, but I have a couple of mailfriends. I don't have the time to write snail mail letters anymore, and it is much easier for me to write emails. I enjoy writing and receiving emails, and I often write long emails to my friends.

I had few numbers of friends before whom I write every month and had to wait for a reply after a month. Too slow. These days I don't write frequently because I have lots of things to do. :( And email is faster now.

I'd love to have a penpal from Ireland or Africa somewhere. I've always been fascinated with the idea... Sadly, the only time I'd ever gotten a chance to write someone was back in the fifth grade for a class project. We wrote to people in Canada. It was interesting, but by email. I always prefer snail mail, it seems so much more sincere I suppose.
