Well I have done it.. I am so proud of myself. I have gone almost 2 weeks without soda. OMG it feels great. It is the first big step into my new lifestyle change. And I couldn't feel better about it. I don't even crave it anymore. There are moments when I walk into the gas station to grab something to drink on the way to town and I will catch myself going to the fountain drink sodas and I won't even them it's just a brain thing. I have to consciously go whoops grab a water, or a gatorade or powerade. But either way it's awesome. because now I know it's all mental, and not physical

You are taking the first step to cutting back or cutting something out in an effort to take control of your diet. As you can see, when you put your mind to it, it just might work. Two weeks is a good amount of time to show consistency, even on a short-term level. All you have to do, is keep it up. Water is better for you; and you can have soda in moderation if you choose to. If you give it up completely, that is up to you. But, if you practice going without for a while, you will be more inclined to practice a healthier moderation of your consumption of soda. Sometimes you have to prove to yourself that you can go without something.

I really like Dr. Pepper and had drunk a lot of them for many years. However, I quit about three years ago. My problem is that I used to have ice cream floats with Dr. Pepper or drink Dr. Pepper along with having some kind of snack like chocolate or cookies and now without the Dr. Pepper I tend to eat two or three times the amount of the snack(or servings of ice cream) in one sitting as when I had the Dr. Pepper with it.

I had some sort of addiction to Mountain Dew as well. I can deal without drinking Sodas but I have a sweet tooth so I always crave for some sweet juices. To control my habit of drinking sugar-loaded fluids, I switched to natural fresh fruit juices. It's a bit more expensive but certainly better than having to drink soda.
I am happy for you. Taking a challenge and successfully conquering it for 2 weeks is quite an accomplishment. Keep it up.

That's great. At least you can resist sodas now. I starting to lessen drinking sodas too and drink water more often instead. It is just the power of mind and determination.

Yes, it really is just will power and determination. I just wish I could do that with food.. But I will I will get there I know. And good luck to you. I recommend drink tons of water, even if you don't like water drink it every time you pass the faucet drink a glass, that way you won't be "thirsty", and you will also feel full. And you can try adding lemon, or lime or even peppermint to your water. Or apple cider vinegar

My experience is pretty funny, my longest is for about a month. Every month there's this day where I have no other choice but to drink one, so i have to go back to day 0.
It really feels good and I felt like I lost some lbs without drinking soda.
I hope this time I could really avoid soda, I'm thinking of bringing my own bottle of water whenever I go out.

Congratulations on your fantastic feat! Back when I was a toddler, I loved soda. Especially mountain dew, which in turn did not work out as I originally planned, making me overweight. I've stopped since then from drinking plain re-heated water, I've been able to manage the mundane tasks.
Good Luck (if you're planning to) stop drinking soda for a longer period of time. Soda albeit may be tasty, drinking water or an alternative non-caffeinated drink is the way to go.

Great job. It can be hard quitting things that you really like. Giving up soda will be much better for your body though. My sister is about 7 months pregnant and I happened to be at the store yesterday and saw she was buying 7 2 liter bottles of pepsi soda. Not very healthy :( Oh well its her body not mine.

Congratulations to you! I also am a soda addict, but I can't resist this week. I know it all depend on your mental and not pyhsical, but if I don't drink I have no energy to work, soda makes me refresh and energetic, anyway I am trying to drink fruit juices instead of soda and make soda last on my list, I am going to drink soda once in a blue moon and if my body allows it I am going to start tomorrow. Great discussion!

Congratulations and how I envy you! I an addicted to sodas, there isn't a day goes by without me drinking a glass or two of soda. I wish I could muster enough courage to stop this addiction because I know it is not doing any good for my health. But with your post I feel so inspired, I guess I have to start now and probably 2 weeks after, I can share also my triumph in avoiding sodas.

Congratulations! I gave up soda a while ago, and very rarely crave it. It's really a wonderful move to improve your health because soda is basically sugar.
