I'm frustrate. When I was a child I really like to have my own bike and ride a bike. Problem is that I don't know how to ride a bike. My parents are very protective of me so that's why they don't want me to ride a bike because they are afraid that I will going to get hurt. Now I'm too old to learn how to ride a bike. I'm still dreaming to learn how to ride a bike though.

Now is your chance to learn how to ride a bike my friend. No one is too old to learn anything, as long as you know that you can do it. Try to find a bike that can enable you two legs to simply go down, when you seem to see that you are in for a fall. Then, find someone who can at least guide you on how to ride it.

I tried that 5 years ago. But since I'm obese I broke the front wheel of my friend's bike. lols. I guess. I need to loss weight first then after that I going to buy a strong structured bike that can support my body. I know its hard to learn bike if you are older as your muscle is already stiff.

And when we are older not only are our muscles already stiff, but there is fear of tripping off and breaking our already fragile bones. That's how i always feel, bulastika.

I agree with musicluv4life! Some time in life you have to do something challenging, right? Learning how ride a bike can also be fun, as long as there's someone who can guide you. And always be careful. Go for it! Good luck!

I tried once to learn when I was 25 years old and guess what? Since I'm also an obese person I end up bending the wheels of my friend bikes. lols. And still I did not learn. I guess my muscles and my fats just can't handle the word balance. lols.

I guess you are never to old to try to learn something. I remember trying to learn how to ride a bike. It seemed so impossible. The training wheels were off and there I was out of control with every attempt I tried to ride. It frustrated me as well. I was about nine years old when I learned to ride my bike independently. I kept trying and trying, and falling and falling. Finally, I was riding longer and longer, and falling less and less until I was gracefully riding without falling or dropping the bike down. Riding a bike was a dream for me to, but it came true after I kept trying and trying. Keep on trying and realize your dream. You can be a master of the pedals too.

If your age is nine when you tried to learn how to ride a bike. Multiply it by 5 and that is the age that I'm going to try to learn how to ride a bike. lols. I did try to learn how to ride a bike once but my protective mother scolded me. Now I don't know how to ride a bike.

I guess their just someone who don't know how to try to learn a bike. We are born not to ride a bike. lols. In due time I'm going to have my way and ride a bike. Sometimes you are born in complicated family that a simple things like learning a bike is a big deal. But at least you have a chance to learn while me I don't have a brother to teach me how to ride a bike.

Hello bulastika! It's surprising to hear that a guy never really experienced riding a bike even as a child... Well, I guess not all children really experience such toys or something like a bike. Like you, I didn't own a bike before. But I have tried riding it and am still scared to try bike if you ask me now. But I love to learn even now, I guess there's nothing wrong to still ride a bike even if we are old enough to do so... I can still see people who rides it but I don't like mountain bikes. If i would have the chance to try, I'd go first for the normal size thing than go ahead of the mountain bike...hehe

Problem is that I have a stiff body and its really hard to learn how to ride a bike if you have a stiff body. And worse I'm obese and petite. So if a bike is small enough for my height its can't carry me. If its big enough for my weight I can't reach it. lols.

I learned how to ride at an older age. I had a bike when I was small but after moving a few times it was gone and I had not thought about it til friends were riding bikes and I didn't have one or knew how. I would personally borrow someone's bike and practice on a drive way or area with no traffic. You will get it, like anything it takes practice and determination. I rode a bike for the first time in over ten years the other month and I will say I was a bit wobbly but I am confident it'll fully come back to me every time I ride.

Hi bulastika: I think we are not so old to have new experiences as long as we have the health. How old are you? I have to confess you that I never learnt how to ride a bike but in my case was because I was a really afraid kid. I have many hears so I never learned at that time. It's a shame because now I miss these times I've lost not learning something that beautiful. I hope one day I learn how to ride a bike. ALVARO

I agree, you're never to old to learn how to ride a bike. Trust me, I'm 26 and I still don't know. I do however plan to do so the moment I get the entire lot of our home cemented. Just give it a try and trust yourself to learn it. In no time, you'll be cruising down the streets with your own bike. And besides, it's like riding a motorcycle wherein you'll need to center your weight perpendicular to ground( I think that sounded to complex).

I guess its the same thing. its has two wheels. But I guess the best way to learn to ride a motor is to ride a bike. Its fun to have a bike and move around. Some day I'm going to buy a bike and learn how to ride a bike. But that's I guess is some day. lols.

I am happy to tell you that my parents give me a full support to learn driving but they advice me to concentrate on the things while driving. I used to study bike with my elder brother. My elder brothers have a good bike and he allowed me the the permission to use it any time. Now I know them to ride but I do not take them on the road becuase I don't earn a license. For learning driving you need to take risk. Without taking risk you cannot learn them.

I love risk. I'm a gambler, and forex trader and stock trader so I know about risk. But since I'm living with my mom and two sisters and a niece who don't know how to ride a bike and is fearful that if I learn how to ride a bike I will going to get accident. Then I end up not learning. But I guess I need to kill all of them first so that I can learn how to ride a bike. lols.

It is never too late i think, as long as your knees are still working well.lol :-) Parents are just like that , trying to protect us.. so caring but so much of that could cause us of becoming weak, the bad side of it we were not able to learn fast.. to much protection is tantamount to kid's deprivation of knowing and learning of the basic things that we supposed to know at early age to be ready for the real battle in life. I can say that, because i believe that life is short, you can never tell when you are going to leave your kids, so it is much better and more practical to inclined your kids to do things that can boost their confidence in standing in their own, and allowing them to experience the real world.

I do agree. But we can't choose our own parents right? lols. I guess what we want to happen to our life is what we need to do. We only live once. I'm happy that at least I was not bored in a war turn village or living in medieval time. But I wish I was born in more liberal family. I really feel that I'm been holding in the neck all the time.

Unless you are 90 year old, you are not yet old enough to learn something new and that includes riding a bike. I know someone in our neighborhood who learned how to ride a bike at the age of 40. You can do it just as long as you have a sense of balance. I am rooting for you my friend.

Sad to say I'm 91 years old. lols I hope that I'm going to learn how to ride a bike also. Right now it so stressful in my house that I just want to take a bike and ride until I find a quite place to stay for a while.

You're not too old! It's better to do it now, than regret not learning for the rest of your life. In fact it may be easier as an adult, because children are often terrified of falling. The easiest way to learn is to find a nice large area of grass, and just keep practicing until you get the hang of it. Its fun, and a really great form of exercise!

I guess so. But first what I need is to learn how to ride a bike. If I know how to ride a bicycle I can learn how to ride a bike. theirs just too many ways to learn how to ride a bike problem is that I'm shy or feel insecure when many know that I don't know how to ride a bike. lols. I guess its take time and practice and a good structure bike since last time my friend teach me how to ride a bike I broke its wheels. lols.

It is never too late to learn. The first thing that you need to do is to get a bike, then ask someone who could help you learn it. You need someone to hold the bike at first, so. Go ahead, and learn to bike.

..you still can pursue your dream.if you have time start learning how to ride a bike.even me,am not yet good in biking.that's why i can relate to you.i envy those people who rides beautifully.it is a good form of exercise.i was really afraid to get hurt when i started riding it.when i practiced biking,i didn't know that my cousins were not holding it anymore.and when i looked back,i'm at least 500 meters away, and to my fear,i crashed the bike on a drum of garbage.but still,i have plan to practice it again.practice makes perfect! enjoy biking and be careful..

No one is too old to learn how to ride a bike. It's hard at first but you gotta have guts to do it. Your first problem is balance. What I did was, I start from the top of the slopy/inclined road and go straight down holding the brake halfway so I won't go too fast. When I know how to balance, I learned how to pedal.. I didn't have anything on me (knee and elboy pads) but thank God I didn't got any bruises or something.. You should try :).. But yea, there should be someone willing to help you throughout the process. It helps..

Its never too late to pursue your dreams. I have also learnt driving twice but without any success but I will give it another shot again and I think that you should also give yourself a chance to learn riding the bike again.
