Guthrei Test is done during postnatal screening. It has become the international standard for newborn screening, while two other laboratory methods are now widely used in the US, namely, flunrometric analysis and tandem mass spectrometry. These procedures can now screen for some 20 or more conditions, including genetic disorders. Genetic testing may help to show if a baby has inherited the tendency to develop certain diseases. Now, I want to know through my fellow mylotters on what are some of the disorders that are detectable by postnatal screening.
