I work in a market research company which has branches in Asia, you may say it Asia's market research company, and there is this director in the company who age 53 years old. My question is when he gets 55 years old its time for retirement or if some rich businessmen want to buy our company and if the company suddenly went bankrupt, will someone take over and remain there? I am scared this company will suddenly disappear one day, and I had no jobs like these as I am loving my job very much at this company.

Oh, if it happens, sure you have to find a new job... However don't take negative thinking...just enjoy your work now and do the best to contribute to the company.

Hi wongchoiyee... Don't worry, with people like you in that company, it will never be bankcrupt. Trust, loyalty and concern from it's employees are essential for companies to succeed. And if ever it will be sold to another businessman, I'm sure, he will retain you for your good work background. Or else, they will pay for the separation pay which would be enough before you could start again on a new company. Goodluck!

I'm sure your boss already picked out a loyal lieutenant if he's already picked his retirement age. Hopefully, he'll be able to pick up the job and do as good as (or better) than your former boss.

Hello wongchoiyee, I think those things are best tackled with your human resources department. I am not sure about it but most company are very quick on addressing issues and concerns like that of their employees because it is a matter of interest for all of you guys, so I think it is not bad to ask those things to your HR team. Also, I also suggest that you just enjoy the work because if all employees do their best, the company will have a greater possibility of growing and low possibilities of closing down.

wongchoiyee those kinds of thoughts can drive you nuts so stop thinking that way,Ceos retire all the time and nobody ever knows as the next in line steps up. Your company will be fine but you worrying like that can make yourself ill and have to miss work. stop thinking negatively like that and go ahead and do your work well. You company will not fold. also no matter what happens we cannot change what could happen so why worry about it.
