Tackling Artichokes

When I get back from the store, I'm planning to cook up a couple of artichokes. I've got a vague idea of what to do to make them just like mom used to, but I'm sure it will involve a lot of Howto.com and guessing. So what do you do with these intimidating vegetables?

They're very easy to prepare. The quickest way to cook them is to boil them on the oven, or even the microwave! When you microwave artichokes, they actually come out very nice. It tastes as good as when you steam them. Just put them in a covered bowl half filled with water, and microwave for about 6-8 minutes. Pouring on melted butter, or eating with mayonnaise is very delcious

Interesting! I never think to use the microwave for fresh veggies, but I've seen it work.
