CSK continued their resurrection and helped their cause for making the playoffs by beating the mighty Delhi Daredevils. Delhi had a bad day at the office and could only muster 114 of their 20 overs. Ben Hilfenhaus was the wrecker in chief for CSK as he finished with 3-27 of his 4 overs.
Chasing a meagre score, CSK easily cruised to victory in 15.2 overs winning by 9 wickets.
This win lifts CSK to the fourth place, but they have played one game more than the other contenders for the 3rd and 4th place i.e. MI and RCB.
Cheers!
Ram

YES, that was a brilliant win for the Chennai Super Kings and hopefully they win the rest 2 and qualify easily to the playoffs while Bangalore has to lost to Mumbai and of course Delhi and they will in no time be out of this season's playoffs.
Chennai after losing the close matches, with Kolkata and Mumbai have gained a momentum at this win and it is important that they retain it for the Must win 2 more matches. On the other hand-Rajasthan has a chance, but Punjab, having 2 out of it's four matches with Delhi, has to play very good game to overcome Delhi, and that shouldn't happen as well.
I just want CSK to raise the trophy once more and any other team raising it could not be imagined.Mumbai had a very good defeat over KKR and i hope they do the same to Bangalore pushing them off cover.
Ben was tremendous.I don't have words to describe him.But let him keep the good work. He was like this in the four matches.
1st match: 1 wicket.
2nd match:2 wickets
3rd match:2 wickets
4th match: 3 wickets.
So the 5th match with KKR.. He has to take?
Let's just keep our hands crossed and hope CSK wins this year too!
Let the Lions ROAR louder!

Though the CSK won convincingly last night their task is not over yet. They have two more matches and they have to win. And interestingly both the opposites are strong ones.
Before that why not we retrospect as to why this happened to a champion team? I feel Dhoni is responsible in the initial stage that they lost more games. Besides there was lacking of game plan.

It has been a topsy turvy IPL this year. Now the control is back in Chennai's hand as RCB and Kings XI have lost. Now if Chennai win their final match, Barring a huge victory for RCB in their final match to turn around their net run rate and take it above CSK, they should make it to the playoffs.
Cheers!

Let us hope for the best. You know, you should really know things an happen.I agree the task is difficult but we should not be blaming Dhoni alone. They all - I mean all the team members must be doing well in the form.
They are more good in Chasing i believe!
And i just want them to win..
I don't care if, if, they were not consistent!

Disappointing performance from Delhi daredevils.Easy win for Chennai super kings.
It is the Chennai bowlers who made this target easy.I think Chennai is getting some form now. They will surely reach play offs!!

Yes, Hilf has made a great comeback after that disappointing last three balls against Mumbai Indians. Had he got them right, CSK would have had one foot already in the playoffs. But now they still have to win all their remaining matches and hope that RCB or MI slip up.
Cheers!

I am also of the same opinion. Now it is time for Delhi to win the IPL or RCB to take because CSK and Mumbai have already won once or twice.

Seeing the current form Delhi Daredevils are in, I think it would require severe skill and a lot of guts to just play them, let alone beat them!
I think any team that can defeat them during such a run should be admired. So well done MS Dhoni and his men. With Morne Morkel, Sehwag, Warner, Pathan, they really had to put up a good show to win, and they did so quite comprehensively!

Chennai Super Kings did well to restrict Delhi Daredevils for 114, Chennai Super Kings did everything right to stay awake in the points table.
Now with Chennai Super Kings has 15 points, they have a nice change of going to playoffs, lets if they can do it ...

Hi ram,
Right. Delhi daredevils did not play like a champion or to say likely to be champion team yesterday. I was wondering why they could not hit fours and sixes as MI did. Mubai Indians looked so ordinary a team that who saw yesterday's match would not believe that they have already sealed a place for the play offs.
On the other hand CSK is not yet out of danger. Lets see what follows.

Indeed M S Dhoni's CSK have done themselves a world of good but beating the Delhi Daredevils and putting themselves into a good position for the playoffs. Its been so close this year between the teams and its just not possible to see who has the advantage. The momentium is swinging from team to team as games go by.
As we near the end of This IPL season we sure will be in for a close finish between the sides. Its all getting started as the come close to whats been an exciting season...

CSK made an easy victory over Consistent Delhi as they able to restrict them to a low score of 114/5 with great pice of bowling from Ben Hilfenhaus. Virender Sehwag failed and other batsmen failed to pace with innings, run scoring was hard as Chennai bowlers were keeping tight. Naman Ojha, who partnered Warner in an explosive stand in Hyderabad also faield up and gave his wicket to Hilfenhaus caught buy DHoni. Venugopal Rao Yogesh Nagar had added 48 at a run-a-ball but after both failed it was allover, they recovered Delhi from 27 for 4. jadeja conceded 11, the most expensive over. Delhi able to add only 36 in their last five overs a very low of thier standards.
Chase was as easy as it can be for CSK, they just lost one wickets and grab victory before five overs to spare.
Super Kings shook Daredevils out of their comfort zone by letting them set a low target and chased it up easily.
Match has rise CSK to top 4 but they need to win still to go to play off still game not over and there twist in the tabel of IPl who going to play in top4 ? Guess it would be hard to predict.

Two years back it was the advent of Bollinger that changed the fortunes for CSK. This year they might probably be thinking the same about Hilf. If he had not bowled those three last balls against MI, he would actually have done a brilliant job. As it is he has still given CSK with a fighting chance for the playoffs.
Cheers!

FAILURES ARE THE STEPPING STONES TO SUCCESS
The way chennai super kings had played this season is a wonderful proof for this statement. Chennai had a poor start to the tournament but later they understood the mistakes in each of the failures and they praticed their best to make themselves to get into the play off.
Bowling department was the one of the biggest failures of kings. Recently chennai had gained the power to attack each and every one. The game against delhi and rajasthan is a perfect example of it.
Now chennai lies in the 4th position of the point table with 15 points with a out run rate of 0.223 and chennai had two more plays remaining for the qualification in the qualifiers round. I think DHONI and his team mates will do their best to get into the qualifiers round.
