These days people are having only one goal, to earn money. This is because most of them think money can give them any thing, including happiness. Most of the time of life is spent for earning money and hence no time or energy will be left for enjoying life.Should we not change this concept?

Well i guess you can shift the concept just a bit but not too much and here is my reason. I know money doesn't necessarily bring happiness, but being poor and in poverty doesn't either. Everything in this world require a balance, and each and every person might have a different balance point. I am in an average family. What I mean by average is that, we are not poor and at the same time we are definitely not rich. We simple well can afford certain things. When my family and I go out to have some fun, let me tell you, we really have fun. We can't afford to spend the night in a hotel but we stay in a friend's house, and we will be playing board games and such. We have lots of fun doing different sort of stuff. So i can say the average life is fantastic.
The rich life now, the saying goes, time is money. So you have alot of people focussing all their time on earning money. And to be honest I really don't see anything wrong with that. Because what I have notice is that when those family take a time off and most time its more than one time per year. They have extra fun. Well they are in the best hotels. Driving in the best cars, and still hanging with friends. The only difference is that most times these friends also have money. SO they are still having fun, but they are having fun while swimming in money. So to be honest I really dont see the need to shift the concept that much. Maybe you can shift it, but not too much. Like seriously.

Very true . Money cannot buy haopiness , one can enjoy there life in small small things . Like if he just lishen to his favourite music it will bring happiness. Like this only if one watch there favourite mivie or eat there favourite dish or simply get aling with there family or friends they can enjoy there life.

Sometimes We cannot go out on weekends also as he needs to work on those days.
He gies early and come back late night due to which my daughter even gets neglected.

Nowadays the cost of living is so high and with inlation and wrong government policies, scams and corruption everywhere, life has become very difficult for not just the common man but also for all categories of people.Formerly with just one earning member in the house it was still possible to run the house without much difficulty but now with even 2 or 3 earning members its quite difficult to run the house or even save.No wonder people are going crazy trying to earn as much as possible, leaving for work early in the morning and coming home late at night. I know quite a few families where both husband and wife work and get to see each other only during the weekend. In such a scenario the children are left to fend for themselves and they soon get into all sorts of troubles. To avoid such a situation the parents should make time for each other and for their kids.Somehow they must change their working schedules in such a way that they get time for recreation for themselves and for the entire family. This will create a healthy atmosphere in the house and a good relationship between the family members.People are so stressed nowadays mainly because of this reason and lose their health and even families break up which creates more problems for the children.

It is difficult to change that concept. The reason is people have a different definition of happiness. Some people are already happy by gaining too much money in the bank and some people are not happy even if they have too much money. It says that a person is happy by gaining too much money is their choice and its not their destine.
There are many deep reason why people all over the world needs money although extreme is not also good.

money is necessary and we cannot have fun without money, i am not saying money is everything. we need to balance in between. and i think most of the people do not earn just to have fun or for themselves only.
Money gives us
security - we feel secure when we have enough money, if accident happen we need to money to get treatment.
fulfilling requirements - we have requirements like clothes, food and shelter and money can give us these requirements, more money we have more we can afford.
but there are certain things which we cannot buy or get through money like happiness, friends and friendship, lover, time, etc.
we should try to balance things, we should give time for earning as well as for those things which makes us happy.

At the moment, I am in no financial capacity to set aside work. The thing of the matter is, I have been running myself ragged because we currently are in debt. Nothing serious, but I would like to be able to pay off the remaining debts that we have. I can't enjoy a little bit because relaxing would require some sort of expense at one point, and it is expense that I can't benefit from, or that I can't replenish. So until we're paid off, I unfortunately gotta work, work, work.

Well, you cannot blame other people when they do that. They want to earn more money because maybe they are in dire need of it, hence they don't take into consideration if they are enjoying it also.
Here at Mylot, you enjoy while you earn. Not only do you earn but you also gain friends and get to share experiences and opinions.

Well, it depends on the person's mindset and orientation toward money and enjoyment/happiness. Some people actually do have fun while earring money (how much they earn is another question) while others are miserable earning through their work.
Sometimes, it simply cannot be helped. Circumstances in life can force a person to abandon their dreams and take any work just to provide financial stability to their selves or their families. Being practical in a materialistic and overly-competitive world is a must and sometimes, a skill that needs to be learned. As much as we like to pursue things that make us happy, those happy things might not be practical or realistic in a particular time.
I agree that we need to have some passion and a bit of enjoyment in doing things that we do - in order to keep us form doing it and not feeling the burnout. However, life is unpredictable and sometimes you need to go with flow. Either you sink or you swim. It really depends on the person if he can find a compromise between the two.

I assume you talk about yourself? Who says all the mylotters are just there for making money and 24/24? I am not for sure. This besides of the fact it's frequently true you need money to have some fun. I am not talking about going out but if you have no food on the table, or are able to feed your kids or send them to school there is less fun left over. I can assure you that. If you spend too much time over here or making money I would advice you to change that. Note that to many people internet or working is fun too or relaxing, a way to meet people, etc.

Sometimes I think about this too. Most people go to work at least 8 hours a day for a whole week and sometimes even on weekends, they continue to work. Working is something that we cannot simple say no to because in reality, we need to work to survive. I guess your point is for the people who continuously work without enjoying the 'life' outside the office.
There are lucky people who get to do the things they really enjoy. It is really true that you need to do what you love and you will never work for a day in your life!

Your discussion interest me. I have more words to say. People now a days always thinking money but there are also few people enjoying of what they have as long as they have their family by their sides that's matter the most. Affection and love would eventually come out to those people who are happy and be contented of what they have.
Most of us want to earn or have monthly income for stability and future purposes. I admit I am one of those people who want to earn huge but I balance it and bare in mind. That this things shall come to pass and we never know when or how.I want to earn because I want to help myself and others to pursue the life while we are still living on Earth and when that times expires. I know that my decision give me a good feedback.

You say that these days, people are having only one goal, to earn money. I disagree. People have many goals in life, only one of which is to earn money. Money is a fact of life. We all need money to survive, as the basics of life cost money. We need to have food and water, we need to wear clothes, we need to have shelter. These things must be paid for with money. However, people have other goals in life. They may have goals to travel, get an education, start a business or whatever. Although these things cost money as well, money is not the driving force behind setting these extra goals. Enjoyment is. Some people find great enjoyment in travel, others in starting a business. For some education makes them happy as it enriches their life.
People work to survive, they don't survive to work. Most people really enjoy their days off, spending them with family, friends, shopping or whatever gives them pleasure. Even more, people enjoy when they have vacation time to go and do whatever it is they enjoy, with no thoughts of work entering their mind during their vacation time. So yes, people do spend a good portion of their lives working but there is much more to life than becoming a slave to money.
