I gave my mom some $ and a card, and I made dinner today too. Her favorite, chicken cutlets and rice, plus I made some garlic cauliflower as well for a few of us who eat that. We have a cake with strawberries and cream on it. I made a banana bread too and she ate a piece, I wanted to just use up some old bananas for that and didn't have time yesterday. It was very warm today but overall a good day with no arguing at all, woohoo! One of the best Mother's Days on record. How did yours turn out today?

I prepared a simple celebration for my dearest mother. I cooked spaghetti and made mango float for the dessert while my father cooked pancit (term for noodles in Filipino cuisine). I also bought ice cream. Even though my mother can't say what she really feels because she had stroke, I hope that she's happy with what I prepared for her. I just want my mother to be happy. Everyday is a mother's day for my mama.

Well, that simple celebration sounds like you had made a wonderful dinner and dessert. I'm so sorry to hear she can't say what she really feels cause she had a stroke. Will she get better? I know how you feel about her being happy, and wanting her to be happy especially now. You're a good person to be so kind to her. Your dad is awesome as well, for preparing the pancit. God Bless her and your whole family.

Thanks for the compliment nailtech. I'm really praying to God to always give her long life. She is already bedridden. We do everything for her, feeding her and changing her underpants whenever it's wet. I will not be tired of being a mother to my mother. I really love her and also my father. They are everything to me.

Seems it is a popular kind of cake to get on Mother's day. A friend of mine had it too on Mother's Day. She has two girls.Oh it sounds like you all have had a lovely time on MD, I'm glad you got to do all that without any problems.

Yes, there is a lot to say for quiet. Maybe your mom just doesn't care any more. I know I don't and I just eat what I please. There comes a time when life belongs to the yungsters and we older folk just do as we please passing time till the big day comes.

Quiet is nice though too, it was quiet here, hence no arguing, haha! usually there is some kind of misunderstanding or someone being in a bad mood, etc. Now my mom has no blood pressure pills til they say she can get a refill so she will be on edge at times until she gets them no doubt. I expect her to be, cause she doesn't eat right and at her age it is a shame. I mean, popcorn at 8 a.m. with too much salt. Gag. It's as if she doesn't care about herself, well she probably never has, in that kind of way.

I actually have to say that my Mother's Day this year kind of stank. It was great that my children did remember to tell me "Happy Mother's Day," but that didn't mean that my friend (roommate) and myself didn't have to cook for all of the kids while the two men took it easy during the day. That is something that really bothers me, but I know that there are better days to come for her and I and that is what makes it all worth it.

Awe, thats usually my Mother's day! The guys should have taken you both out, sigh. Try not to le it bother you although I'm sure it's hard not to. Those guys are not very thoughtful. Are they related to my brother? LOL. I say let them cook on Father's Day.

My mothers day was ended in a quite good way. The family was in the mood of enjoyment. I could see each of the faces of my family members getting twinkled. I think all of them had enjoyed the day and I am happy to tell you that it includes me too.

They should always be in the mood of enjoyment, good for them. Twinkled faces are always a good sign. I'm glad you were included in the happiness that you all experienced.

Our Mother's Day Celebration hasn't quite ended yet! We are having BBQ London Broil, veggies, fruit, and I am sure the BB game will be on too and maybe swimming! Happy Mother's day.

Mmmmm, yummy! I love BBQ, I could smell someone having a BBQ in the neighborhood here today and I was craving it so bad. Happy Mother's Day to you as well. I'm just a mom to one cat, no kids.
