I once asked my friend before regarding ways to be environmentally responsible while using computer. He told me about Green Computing. Green Computing is about getting the most out of your computer while minimizing its environmental effects and maximizing cost savings. It also involves reducing the use of electricity and the production of environmental waste while using a computer. Now, can you help me citing some tips to help make our computer purchase, use and disposal more environment-friendly? Thanks and I'll wait ;)

I like the term Green Computing, I think it would be about keeping our environment clean and environment friendly by controlling our computer activities in moderate way. we can save our environment by some adjustments and compromising in our computing. 1 - avoid using screen savers because it consumes electricity and we get Nothing from it. 2 - do not use blue tooth and wireless devices because it use more energy and it works on rays which are not good for environment. 3 - dispose computer material like floppy disk, cds, dvd's etc in Dry garbage and sale them to scarp merchant for recycling. 4 - reuse computer accessories if possible, we can use cd's and dvd's as tea coaster or by little creativity we can make various decorative item from them. 5 - maintain your computer in good condition by using software like ccleaner, Advance System Care etc. it will minimize the computer load and make it more smooth working. 6 - delete unwanted files and folders from your system, it will reduce the burden from computer and we can easily work on the computer and we can reduce the time spam we spend on the compute to do things like projects and other work. i hope, it is useful. nice discussion, keep it up.

Most of the tips are simply reducing waste and thereby saving money rather than making any impact on the environment. A good tip would be not to replace your computer when your old one is perfectly capable of doing what you want even if it may be a bit slow doing it. The computer industry would of course hate the idea! haha
