I set people to get fired and I didnt felt bad

I remember during the early days I got in my position, I felt awful reporting the people who are liabilities to the company due to their lack of skills, cos they got fired but its part of my job, to segregate the good apples from the apples. I felt bad when people lose jobs. well there are 2 ladies and a "lady" who had been a cause of chaos in the office, they were not under performing, well as employees I can call them average...
well they had been causing a lot of trouble and had been bullying people, so top end all of the drama.... I reported them....
they all got fired, these 3 are friends of my girlfriend, so she hates me right now but I made her choose, me or her friends.....
Finally I wear the pants in the relationship. ever since those 3 are gone,the drama in the office is gone... no more tension and bullying.
I cant believe I had waited so long before doing this.... I should have done it earlier.

It is never an easy choice, but it needs sometimes to be done in the interest of the company. In my own experience, I never felt bad because I always did everything possible before, to avoid to have to write a report against somebody that might cause this person to be fired. Others around may want to make you feel guilty, but you did what you had to do within the framework of your job.

This is the first time I got people fired without feeling guilty cos they were kind of diserved it. well my girlfriend deserves to get fired along with her friends.... but she is my girlfriend..... well I spoiled her too much.....time to be the one who wears the pant in the relationship. I let her control mein the last few years....not anymore.

Well, it only shows that you did your job well. You should never feel guilty to what you have done after all, you are certainly just doing your job. Sad to note that job like yours are commonly heated by other workers. But if you do not do your job, then naturally you will come out incompetent. So just do your job and take out the guilt since there is no need to be guilty of.

sorry for my late response, I had been busy in the last few days doing what I have to do which s putting people on probation for their violations and I just fired 2 guys and 1 woman for being incompetent. I dont feel any remorse anymore, does that make me a bad person? Its not my fault though, they dig what they sow.

Part of my job is to report who performs well and who will be given a thank you letter at the end of every semester of a school year. Aside from the evaluation of students to our faculty it is also in my hand the fate of most of our employees, so when some of them annoys me hehe I really do take it against them and write it down as there minus points.
However, I do sometimes feel bad getting them fired, even if I am already doing it for almost eight years now. I do sometimes think, if what I did is really the right and best thing for the company. Oh well, I am still ending up concluding that what I did is just what I need to do for the seek of the company and of everyone of us.

I already get use to it now, its all busines nothing personal, having people fired is part of job,. it would have been better though if everyone is doing well and everyone is not being a brat so I dont have to put people in the chopping block. damn this job is making me cold hearted....I dont recognize my self anymore.

the only reason I kept my patience on them is that they were my girlfriend's friends but i cant take their presence anymore and they were causing too much trouble. they need to be humbled.
