I GOT LOTS OF NEGATIVE RATTING!!!!!-Where have i gone wrong???

I'm sorry your rating went down. I can't tell you why, I haven't rated you negatively personally. But if your reputation in an interest when from ranked 82/100 to 74/100, I can reassure you that it actually went up. The interest rankings are 1-whatever number and the closer you are to 1 then the higher you are. It's the opposite for stars, 10 beings the highest ranking you can get. Don't despair! Just keep making good discussions and posting good responses and I have no doubt you'll be climbing the ladder again soon. I haven't ever rated someone negatively because I disagreed with them, but I have negatively rated people I thought were 'trolling' or just going around stating their opinion bluntly in order to get a reaction. I give people a plus rating when I see they're trying to make a good discussion, regardless of whether or not I agree with them.

Oh that's going to be something not to be heard of.. Being a newbie, you should know my rating do not affect users, and to be clear,i can't rate because myLOT prevents us from rating before 100 posts are reached!Anyway,i must make it a habit to rate things according to what they deserve.I mean we are not supposed to rate it negative when it does not go by our views, we are supposed to rate it negative only when it affects the myLOT community. Some one is abusing the rating system.I already saw Lamb telling he has gone down from 98/100 to 97/100.There must be some trolls who are jealous of these things.Hope myLOT finds them soon and banishes it from this good website so these people deserve ratings for what actually is written by them. You are doing well - i hope and keep up the good work!

Don't feel too bad. I have gotten a lot of negative ratings as well, but I don't let it affect me because it's my opinion, and if people don't like that, then that is their problem and not mine. You feel how you feel about things, and no one change you or how you feel, unless you let them, and you can't change their opinion on things unless they let you do that.

Once I also had the same problem. Don't worry about it. I saw someone had the same problem. But I am rating posetive to the comment. I am not rating you negative. Because I didn't got any mistake with your response or comments... start good discussion like this... and respond to all goodly. They will like your comment and rate you posative... this discussion made me happy. thanks for starting... happy mylotting....

I once posted a discussion about long distance relationship. It's a bit harsh, I must admit. Only five people responded and before I replied to those responds I got this email letting me know that my discussion has been deleted as it's too violating. I got my rating down after that happened. So I think maybe it's not about the people who rated you negatively, maybe you have a discussion that has ever been deleted lately? I don't know, there are just too many possibilities. And don't be sad, or this one might be deleted as well. I mean, things happen. And I think the admin decides whether you have made a quality responds and discussions or not. So be patient and keep responding.

I'm sorry to know that. I don't really have an idea about that number inside the star. I was just amazed when I've seen that number beside my name. Personally, I don;t give a negative rating to anybody. If I don't find the idea convincing of perhaps sounds negative, I just leave it unrated. Well, anyway, just keep on posting good articles and don't worry about that rating. You will be able to get it back.

I have no idea why your ratings went down, Music. It's ok to have a difference in opinion as long as you are respectful in how you express it. I'm not saying that is it as I honestly don't know. Maybe you did nothing wrong at all. I'm not real sure how it all works. Mine has gone up and down at times. I think most of us have gone through this. I wouldn't get too worried.

Someone earlier said if someone was just being unkind and did that to you, they would get it back. It's true. There was one who spent evenings doing that to me and she/he ended up getting banned from mylot later on for doing something or other else that didn't have anything to do with me. What I'm saying is 'what goes around comes around'. But like several have said earlier, 'it's happened to most of us.' You just don't always know why, but sometimes you do. Just keep up the good work and your numbers will go back up.

I don´t rate much, so I don´t really know. I rete with a minus only rude posts or answers. As for pluses, I only use the + when a post or answer is exceptionally good. I wouldn´t mind that if I were you. Easy comes and easy goes. Happy posting.

Sorry to know that musicloverfriend. I for once received negative ratings too from unknown poster/s due to very same reason as you do. It's kinda sad to see my reputation went down 3 notches but then again it didn't stop me from commenting on a certain topic whether they would agree or not as we are all entitle to express our own opinion. My question is, instead of replying your comment and prove you wrong why rate negative if the comment is unacceptable for them?

Oh, i haven't known how to see my rating also...lol. I really don't understand why you got it...Since you post your discussions everyday then your total discussions is increased but your reputation is kept, for instance, then it maybe a reason make 82/100 reputation down to 74/100. Don't be sad about it, i think, just keep posting your discussions on topics that you are interested. Keep your smiles

Honestly I hardly ever see posts that could be rated down, at least in my opinion. I don't know why it makes a few people feel better to rate others down, and I don't find this rating system perfectly fair, but what can we do about it... except for keeping working on quality posts and hoping that our start will go up. My star has not changed since forever, I know I should start a bunch of good discussions and be more active...
