A Journey Through The Bible....Isaiah 56:2

Blessed are all those who are careful to do this. Blessed are those who honor my sabbath days of rest and keep themselves from doing wrong. (Isaiah 56:2) God commanded his people to rest and honor him on the sabbath. He wants us to serve him everyday, but he wants us to make one day special when we rest and focus our thoughts on him. For the Israelites, this special day was the sabbath (Saturday). Some Christians set Saturday aside as this special day, but many accept Sunday (the day of the week that Jesus rose from the dead) as the "Lord's day," a day of rest and honor to God....blessings

Those of us who keep the first day of the week rather than the seventh believe that the Son of Man, as Lord of the Sabbath, changed the day. Also, there is more of an emphasis on communal worship and fellowship on the Sabbath day, though this had already become a custom amongst the Jews.

LotteryLover, I'll give you that text if you give me the text where God told Adam he had to leave the Garden on Eden - it doesn't exist, of course: God communicated His will in this matter via a metaphorical kick in the backside! Similarly, the Lord Jesus communicated His will in this matter after His burial by meeting with His disciples on the first day of the week, thus designating that day as the day they were specifically to meet together, and the apostle Paul shows us that this day was the day that this happened (1Corinthians 16:2). The transition of sabbath from 7th to 1st day isn't so clear and doesn't seem to be binding in all circumstances, e.g., missionaries in Israel would be crazy to treat the 7th day openly as an ordinary work day. But it is implied in the command "Six days shalt thou labour", because if you keep the 7th day as a sabbath and meet together on the 1st day, where are the 6 days of labour? Furthermore, as the sabbath is the Lord's Day and the Lord's Day has clearly shifted to day 1, it is logical for the sabbath also to be day 1. But that we should still have a sabbath and not just seven days of working with a little time out for meeting together is shown in the Lord's words, "The sabbath was made for man". We rob ourselves and our neighbour if we break it.

Here's some verses in regard to it... Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Aye, God does not change. That's why the Sabbath, part of the Jewish Law, is fulfilled in Christ. By the Spirit, Paul wrote that the Law was a "teacher" to bring us to Christ. All the Jewish Law has been fulfilled in Christ. This is why all males coming to Christ do not have to be physically circumcised and I enjoyed a ham and cheese wrap yesterday. In fact, two! :)

Thank you laken02 for your comment. it is very easy to not set time for God with busy lives. I make time in the mornings when I wake up, and then again before bed I read the Bible and Pray; I am learning about the Sabbath to not do work on that day...blessings!

God show the perfect ways and instruction to his people to follow which leads them to heaven. Saturday and sunday that's not a major problem. they should follow the lord's instruction given in bible and leave one day in a week to worship and thank him. this only thing that please the lord jesus
