I am listening to song by Bryan Adams (Summer of '69) and that song brings back so many memories from the past. My neighbour and I used to listen to that song in her apartment. It was a very happy period in my life. We were students and we didn't have much money, but we had a lot of fun together. We have both left the town where we used to live, and I haven't seen her for so long. I feel a little sad. I am happy today, but sometimes I miss that time. I would like to meet her again.
Do certain songs remind you of old friends because you used to listen to them together? Have you ever met old an friend after a long time? How did the meeting turn out?

Actually there are a lot of songs specially the danceable ones that remind me of my friends. Though, they are abroad, they come home every year and we get to bond.
I always like listening to those music , when during our college years, we would go discoing until the wee hours of the morning. They were the happiest times of my college life.
Though, when we all worked already, discoing was lessened, until we all have our own families and some lives abroad already.
Music can indeed remind us of certain people in our lives, that i truly agree with, my friend.

I also have happy memories from the time when my friends and I danced all night. I still remember those times and the discos that we used to visit together. It was a lot of fun. I was a student at that time I didn't have that much money, but we always managed to have a good time together. Today I am older and I am married, and I don't visit discos anymore, but I still remember the happy times that I spent there when I was younger My friend that I thought about the other night was one of the people that I used to spend the time with. We haven't seen eachother for a very long time and that song made me think about her again.

Me and my friends don't have a lot of money too, during our college days. But we always manage to be thrifty with our allowances, just so that we could at least once a week specially Fridays, go discoing.
Hmm, i think your friend was someone special, Porcospino.

To be reminded again hurts me, A LOT.
Music is not the medium which reminds me about them but a particular MMORPG. We used to have fun playing this game, the three of us. A girl, a boy and I. I really like the feeling when the three of us together. Actually the boy had a girlfriend but he told me his in love with our friend which makes our friendship complicated because our friend had no feelings for him and especially when her girlfriend found out. To make it short they both went to a higher university while I went to a lower one. Even though I was able to keep in touch with my friend, the girl, and told me that the boy and his girlfriend broke-up and found a new one but now he doesn't say a word to my friend anymore. Ok to make it short, the boy and I met but as if we're both stranger to each other as if no connection at all. It was the saddest day of my life.
Sorry about the response, I wast carried my away thinking of my old friends. T.T

I understand that it was very sad to meet that boy again and discover that you were like strangers. That must have been a very disappointing experience. I am a little nervous that the same thing would happen to me if I meet my old friend again. I hope that we will be able to talk like before, but I am not sure because it has been a long time and things might be different between us today. We are never going to be friends like we were before, because we were almost like sisters. We lived next to eachother and we visited eachother almost every day. Today we are both married and we live in different parts of the country, so our friendship wouldn't be the same, but I hope that we will still be able to have a good time together.

I guess it will be sad if situation like mine happen to you too but I guess we can still move on when that happens. Though he treat me like a stranger that time, I was still happy because I was the one who greeted him though he didn't respond. I'm still glad that for all this years of missing them both I was able to see one of them in good condition. Even I was not recognize anymore by him, he was still my friend and he cannot deny that. ^^

Hi Porsocpino
We have so many things in common between us
I have a long list of songs that do remind me of my earlier days - specially the college ones - so many memories associated with them.
I met a school mate a few months ago - and I even put that on a discussion here - We didnt meet after school and it was about 20 years later that we met. I was shocked to see him become so fragile and looking so very ill. We did meet a few times after this meet before he went back to his city of work. Today, we are connected via FB.

I happy to hear that you that you have experienced the same thing and that you feel the same way about songs as I do Songs are able to bring back so many memories both good and bad. Last time night I listened to that Bryan Adams song I suddenly felt sad, because it reminded me of a period in the past. I miss my old neighbour and our friendship, because we used to spend almost every day together. When we came back from school or work we met in one of our apartments and chatted for many hours. I would like to meet her again like you did with your friend from school. We don't live in the same part of the country anymore, but I think that it will be possible to arrange a meeting.

From time to time we came to thinking of people who have shared their lives with us. We certainly would miss them when we get to think of those things we have shared together.
It would make us feel sad for thinking of them and suddenly wish to see them again.
It's true that when we miss someone we suddenly think of things we have shared together and connect with them again, but then not all people we want to connect again would still be able to connect cause things had gone differently as time goes by and it depends what have we shared together.
It's good to be reunited with old friends again. That was my wish to other friends who i can't contact anymore. But there are few who I have met after long years... And it was a good feeling specially cause we shared a lot together. After the meeting, we usually text each other more and more like before, but then we can't change the fact that we sometimes don't have the time to talk or text them but still we are friends...

I think that most of us think about the past sometimes. It is a little sad to think about the people that used to be a part of our lives. The Bryan Adams song that I listened to last night made me think about an old friend who was my neighbour 10 years ago. We used to listen to that song together. Sometimes songs have that effect and they make us think about good or bad things that happened in the past, and sometimes they inspire us to do something again or a visit a friend or a place again.
I think it is great that you had the chance to meet some of your friends again after a long time. I hope that I will also get the chance to meet some of my old friends again, that could be fun. It could be interesting to talk to them again and find out what they are doing now. I think that I am going to contact some of them on Facebook and arrange a meeting.

Songs do set in memories into our mind the first time we hear them. That is why so often people remember the song that was played the first time they met, or one that impacted their life when they were having a hard time. Once the song is played again, it also serves to us as a reminder of that time or person, and sometimes a sign that we should try and get to that place or person again! Hope you try to see your friend and say hello!

I would like to meet her again. She lives in another part of the country today, but I think that it would be possible to arrange a meeting. We were neighbours 10 years ago, and that time we were very close friends. Yes, there is something about songs and memories. When we listen an old song we suddenly remember things from the past. I also experience that when I listen to songs that used to listen to during the difficult periods in my life.

well, my story is similar but has to do with a tv show that was on during the 1970's called 'Emergency!' my mom and i used to love watching that show and that was a great time in my life. i had a great childhood but sadly, my dad passed away a couple of years ago and while i get the dvds of the show from my library and introduce the show to my kids, time marches on.

Hi Procospino,
I'm not so acquainted with Western songs. But some songs of past days of my country make me nostalgic. I remember the songs and my friends. Now friends are scattered. I miss them very much. Some songs were very romantic and our age was also full of romance. When I remember those days I feel happy. It makes me sad also.

Good evening dear mylloter friend Porcospino , well actually i think we all have a song or more songs , i am curently twenty-five years old , and like everyone i have melancolique moments while listening "Lady in Red" , since it takes me back in junior prom night , when i was still so naive and was going out with a highschool sweetheart wich has now becamed my loved wife for more the seven happiest years .
I am a romantic at heart ; but i really have a hard time showing it , but the thing keeping my relationship alive is the fact that i make serios atention to birthdays , aniversaries , going out twice a month and much more little thingz that i could still writte about , but i will stop there since it will clearly throw me off-toppic.
I wish you the greatest evening dear friend Porcospino.
HosmanF.
