today was not such a good day for me. suffering from post traumatic stress and d.i.d is not easy. you have your good days and your bad days. today was a day that is just medicationed out. last night i got up and found myself outside in my p.j's. when i came to, it was cold and dark outside. i was scared, but noticed that i was near my house. i don't know where i was going. this triggered a panic attack that lasted for what seemed like forever. the thought of not remembering from moment to moment. i know this sounds strange, but after my bf gave me my meds and i went to sleep all i wanted to do was mylot when i woke up. lol. i did whatever household wise (not much because still drowsy and medicationed out, and came to mylot. it's so grounding and real to me right now. i feel still tired and disoriented, but alot better now. do anyone of you suffer from any mental illness. how are your bad days?

Hi,
Read what you wrote about yourself somewhere else too and though at that time I was commenting on what someone else had written I did think about coming back to you and comment on what you wrote. However soon after posting that response I moved over to something else that caught my fancy.
Dementia? Short time memory lapse or plain oversight?
You are aware of your physical condition, and have a loving and caring partner to be with you, administer medication and is very totally aware of you at all times, and you have all of us here at 'Mylot' to understand you and share with you, yours and ours - trials and tribulations.
Now just spare a thought for all of us who seem to be in the pink of health, but who cannot remember things from just a moment ago, we stare at walls but if someone where to ask the color of the wall we look askance and murmur what color? I was not looking. We listen without hearing, look without seeing, read without understanding, and act without thinking. Dementia? Short time memory lapse or plain oversight? or all of them together.
All of us here are mentally sick, only we will never admit it. Whenever someone else becomes a victim of it then they will take us to a medic so that their loss is marginalized. I am aware most of who is reading this piece must be wondering if I have lost it.
No, I haven't. A small but real incident here would be appropriate, especially for you, MoonGypsy.
A dear friend, Doctor in Clinical Psychology, once invited me to an art exhibition. Surprised, but knowing her well enough, I read the invite thoroughly, only to understand it was by a Schizophrenic patient of her's. She was then serving as a resident doctor in a mental asylum. I attended and found some astonishing pieces of art, mind boggling to say the least. I asked her if I could speak to the artist for I refused to believe he was a mental hospital inmate. She smiled and nodded. I asked him from where he got his inspiration from and he pointed to the sky with a smile. Needless to say all his paintings were sold out that evening. At pack-up I asked my friend he seems alright, why is he in mental hospital? Her answer made me wonder who is really sick, he or us who seems to be in the pink of health.
It seems he was a rich widower without issues and after his wife's untimely demise lost his mental balance and became a schizophrenic. His relatives put him up at the asylum, but with my friends constant persuasion to find himself and somewhere along the line she stumbled on his passion for art. She bought canvas, easel, brushes and paints, and soon he re-discovered himself. However now his relatives do not want him back as they will have to give back his property, and so he is languishing in the asylum.
I hope my answer is clear, all of us are really sick.
Take care and and be aware we are there with you, at all times, all that you have to do is just log in, it is more of 'Ourlot' than 'Mylot' God bless.

thank yo so much for understanding and support. to be here is so comforting with all of you. my family loves to see me on here, because they love to see me interactive and doing stuff. i, too, am an artist. i love art of every kind. i would say i am a professional artist, because i have made money off my art. i do art expos once a month on the first friday. it's something me and my daughter do together when i have stable moments. i think that's why i have started painting a great deal more.

Hi,
That is indeed great news. Art not only allows you to be in a world of your own but if you are able to sell, then it also help you pay off many of your and your family's medical bills. It is also a great stress buster because like writing it allows you to add characteristics every time you get a brainwave. Keep painting away and keep the blues away for another day. God bless.

yes, that's what he already did. he took me off the welbutrin. this is a stimulant, as well as an anti depressant. it was getting me to wound up, probably. my body doesn't do well with stimulants.

All I suffer is depression and stress.. It is good to know that your boyfriend is with you unlike my ex who left me alone and lonely when he knows that my family financial situation is not going well and my health is too weak to take care of him in that future. Just take your medz and take care, always.

i have heard about this case before, where someone is abandon by their loved one because they have mental illness. i am so glad this is not me. my bf may be loud when he talks, and a few other faults, but his good qualities and the way he loves me far outweighs. he has been my rock in ways i could never imagine.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder over 16 years ago. I have my good days and bad days. I cannot say that I have experienced what you have. I hope you get the help that you need. I hope you have the love and support from your family. Remember that you can only pretend that everything is fine for so long, then you just cant pretend anymore. Always reach out for help. Good luck.

It seems to me you are having a bad time, I also have depression for 10 years, so I know how to handle myself, the trick is to be able to be calm as much as you can and do the things only if you want to do it, follow your heart, I will support you, your bf is great, for me my friends left me when I am sick, they are no longer my friends, I will pray for you every day wishing you will get well and for me too :)

I don't suffer from any. But someone very close to me has suffered as a schizophrenic for many years throughout my life. And they have had real bad days. But thankfully for the medicine. They are able to function much better in normal every day life. Normally I am not a fan of medicine. But it has helped. And changed her life. Without it she would not be able to have a decent life. I feel for you. And It is good to see you take your medicine. And you have a boyfriend who cares about you enough to give it to you. Just stay strong and take it for what it was just a bad day like you said. And we all have them. There will be just as many good days if not more ahead. Good luck to you. And I hope you have a lot less bad days than good in the future! :)
