China threw 550,000 boxes of bananas exported by the Philippines

China had thrown thousands of boxes of bananas exported by Filipinos. They said that those bananas did not meet the quality check or somethin' (I don't really remember the exact statement) Throwing food when there are so many people dying around the world is a misplaced thought, selfish and full of ****! . Telling that the food were not in good quality or were infested with insect so sudden is obviously a way to release their remorse as they could not do anything to claim the shoal that they're declaring theirs. That act of throwing food which is the most basic need of every human just because they can't get what they want is immaturity. Together with that is the sudden change to the rules in exporting. They proclaimed that when they found even a single bug/ insect, they will consider those as ground for rejection.

oh my, this is really ridiculous, waste food just because they are angry and wants to make a statement! =( I mean they could have just cancelled the order or something before it was shipped than they actually letting the exporters send them over and have the bananas thrown away like that - i am sure they are not paying for that too?! This is really not the best thing to do on this. They should have let the business not be included on the war against the land...

Business would be included in the dispute since most of the businessmen have this Chinese pride that me and one of this discussion's respondents are talking about. I think the bananas were already shipped to China before they declared that it is infested with bugs. I hope this thing gets resolved quickly as I belong to an international Chinese company.

Their throwing away 550,000 boxes of bananas is tantamount to the same number of frustrations they've for a total and absolute ownership of the scarborough shoal they claimed belongs to them. We may get even with them by not selling bananas anymore to them.

They are so arrogant! Why they include the export trading with their outburst towards the Spratly and Scarborough?God!Those people are so disgusting. They want to reign in the world by claiming lands of neighboring countries, so pathetic. And what about those fake and dangerous products coming from them?Haaay, their cheap products should be banned in the Philippines.

It's obviously a plot to show to the Philippines, that they are right in claiming the the shoal as theirs. They can very well, have those bananas instead eaten by pigs or monkeys, not throw them just like that.

I don't agree with such wasting action, but as the political need ,this is a basic approach ,although many people in Filipinos.Filipinos government also has their wrong and stupid behavior, which hurt most Chinese people's feelings. As we can see,if there is a political confrontation, the people at the bottom always suffer huge hurt.

It is definitely a waste because it is only quality that might be not so good but It is still edible and not poison

Hello cleverland, IT'S THEIR LOSS, not OURS. do they really they can just hurt us that way? they say they are the good negotiators or businessmen, but it seemed United States are even better statesmen than China. they're giving a huge wrong impression and bullying. too bad when our times we would know that china is no longer the kind of nation to better deal with. they're such pathetic government really think they can do what ever they want. too bad they're imitating a bit of what was Japan and now north korea. too bad.

If there were bugs indeed then they could have simply send it back to where it came from, at least those bananas can still feed some mouths. And we're talking about 550,000 boxes of bananas. Perhaps the people who did it did not realize that throwing good food away is bad. Or maybe they don't realize that given the number of chinese people living in this country, there's a possibilty that some of the exporters were chinese themselves.

That is such a waste! between Philippine products and China products, theirs are much of low quality. I have seen medicines, cosmetics and toys that are of China made are dangerous to our health. One medicine that I even watched in the tv consists of dried fetus that was just powdered. See? Between Bananas and their products, which are more low in terms of quality? Besides, They shouldnt include our exports just because of the island that they are claiming.

Pride is considered as the first sin and it is my opinion, that the act was done out of pride. Of course, you can't blame the Chinese people for having an ego - they have their own fair share of contributions to the world and they are always a proud people. whoever, this incident only shows that pride rears its ugly head. There is basically nothing wrong and the whole thing is blown up. Out of pride, Chinese opt to threw food rather than sending it back and demanding a better quality product - if that is even true. if it wasn't then China is trying a dual approach - acting like a big bully and a spoiled child. Not gettign what they wanted and resorting to petty response like these makes you think what will happen if they are the current superpower in the world. Anyway, it only shows what is becoming of China - the frightening and the almost funny side. I cannot really pass judgment but a bad impression is slowly coming to light...

Most of Chinese have this pride of being superior to others...that is why they would not give up with the shoal... Good thing there are some Chinese that does not think like that and see people equally. Hope others would realize too that this is not the old times any more and such mindset would only bring them trouble.

You are totally right. There is something fundamentally wrong with China where there is so much wastage while poverty and hunger continues to prevail. And I do believe too that it's brought about the conflict because of Scarborough shoal. DAR secretary ordered banana growers and Bureau of Quarantine to quarantine the bananas that will be exported in foreign countries and this will prove China that they are wrong. Where are their experts? Why they didn't take action about the issue? It's very disgusting because they destroyed the image of the Philippines that made Japan to stop their requests for bananas too.
