Okay, so we planted our radishes and garlic last week. Now we have little green stuffs coming up through the soil and I am just enjoying watching our "babies" grow! Of course, we have plans for more planting but for now we are enjoying these little ones. I don't know that I have ever quite enjoyed anything near as much as planting something and watching it grow, have you?

Did you know that radishes and garlic can be grown in containers? You could get some nice sized containers and put them on your balcony and grow all sorts of things...even tomatoes and peppers. Yum!

Well, after planting, I guess watching those little things grow is less work than tending a bottle baby kitten, but Oliver sure was fun watching grow up!

I think gardening is one of the hobbies most people love. It is always great to have a garden of one's own. I also like gardening very much. I think it is fun to have plants and to do some agriculture. Yes I also like growing plants of my own. I have some flowers and vegetables in my terrace. I think terrace gardening is very fun.

There is just something magical about growing something from a seed. I remember being little and my Sunday School teacher sending us home with paper cups filled with soil and a seed that we had planted. I don't remember what it was that was planted but I do remember the magical feeling as I watched the sprout break through the soil.

Just be careful of the local varmints. A few years ago, I was ready to get a big crop of cucumbers until either a raccoon or a groundhog ate most of my plants all the way to the ground. That was despite having the plants in a fenced in area on my deck. I trapped both possible culprits and relocated them to a state forest but haven't had as much luck growing since.

omg...good that you were able to relocate them. I have two raised beds in front of my trailer...I'm thinking that the biggest danger of theft will be from my fellow trailer park neighbors. Although we do have some wildlife here...I have seen a raccoon and smelled a skunk...they are rare indeed. As I have pondered my poor planning of the raised beds, though, I have reconsidered and thought that perhaps flowers would be best put in front of the trailer and food stuffs kept inside the fence. Better planning next time round!

If you know what type of critters are around you might be able to plant something or use a scent to keep them away. There are deer repellents for example. Groundhogs are supposed to not like certain types of mint. You can find out more through the Internet.

Yeah, I've heard that coyote urine keeps them all away.
