My close friend gave me a leaf brooch. Until now; I haven't use it in any clothes that I have wear so far. I don't know how to carry it and when to use it.
Can you tell me the basic? What to do with it so far is to put it in my bag and will be able to use it hopefully.
Thanks and will be looking forward for your response

I've never actually worn a brooch, but I have had experience with wearing buttons. Some brooches can be seen replacing the pocket button on various jackets to give it a professional touch (my grandmother does this since she sells Mary-Kay), or simply placed on loose caps (securely) where they are still available to be seen. I have buttons that I've gotten from anime conventions that I have pinned on a messenger bag and they haven't come off. But since it's a brooch, you might have to pin it to the shoulder strap for extra security.
Hope that helped a bit. :)

you can wear it on your collar, or the lapel of your jacket. You can also use it to fasten scarves or ribbon ties.

Another way to wear one would be to use it to secure a scarf or shawl. I like the idea of fastening it on a purse or bag, I have done this before.
