Those annoying hoax messages

I'm getting so annoyed at these hoax messages in people's status messages saying that FB is going to charge a membership fee. So here's what I did - I wrote on my wall "Hi everyone I'm seeing once again status updates about Facebook charging for membership, those messages are a hoax and a nuisance. If you will log out of your FB account on the right hand side you'll see Sign Up and underneath that it says "It's free and always well be". Please don't waste your time or anyone else's time by posting these crazy hoax messages. Thanks!" and added the below picture. I hope this stops it right quick lol. Most the time people just have their facebooks set to automatically log in and so they don't see this page.

Even if I was to stay signed in, if FB start charging, I won't pay and wouldn't care if they removed my profile by not paying, because everything I want to keep, I have saved elsewhere, including my friends..
I haven't seen that hoax in a long time though, and surprised it is still circulating..

I wouldn't pay either, good ol' Skype keeps me in contact with everyone, plus we got emails and other social networks. I think Facebook is getting old anyway, to be honest. The only thing that's keeping me there is Hubby's biological family, but if they weren't on facebook I'd not use my account. I have to admit it is addictive, though :-p

I am very seldom there. I did it for "business" purposes. Hubby also has an account through his sales business.

Well, it definitely would not be so big if it had a membership fee, but honestly, people just want to believe the bad rather than the good. No thinking involved. Your message may get through to a small percentage. Yeah, I never did figure out why people enjoy hoaxes so much.

They're probably bored and looking for a bit of fun and this is not a good avenue to do so. Then there's people who believe anything and get all scared and hyped up and re-posting just in case type thing but that isn't good either. I prefer to do my homework before I beleive anything but then again I'm a sceptic-type person anyway, it's just my nature. I used to get all tied up with all the hype but now I'm so wary of anything sounding "not ordinary" that I'd make a good atheist! :-p LOL

Oh, I have been seeing a lot of hoax messages like this in my friends' status on facebook. It is just funny how people believe such lies and keeps on sharing it on their status. I hope they could be smarter than that.

I think the re-posting in my own fb friends' cases is just being scared and they're just posting it "just in case" type thing. That's why I logged out, took a screenshot of the FB log-in page (you'll see the pic included in this discussion as well) - it specifically says that facebook "is free and always will be". I'm not sure how much more clear the FB staff can be than that. Zuckerberg himself is worth over 2 billion dollars and that's only the income he makes from fb so there's no reason to charge.

Even I, do not believe in those things. How could a facebook would charge a membership? That would never happen because facebook is already successful and the owner is rich.

Yeah.. Many people are making crazy stories.. Like fb gonna charge a membership fee and there's one also where it says fb's closing.. I don't really know where they got such ideas.. People are so creative nowadays, or maybe just paranoid.. __________

if ever they'll start charging for membership, it would be the end of facebook.
