Hi can anyone tell me if you have any idea what breed of dog is the brown one in the picture. She is 32-35 inches in height from toe to forehead at 1 year and 2 months old. I adapted her when she was 2 months old, but I have not seen her mother nor her father, so I am wondering what breed of dog is she. Can anyone please tell me. By the way, I named her Dunkin. She is such a sweet dog but also a great guard dog.

What is for sure - she is not a purebred dog. She has the face of a German Shepherd and the color, long feet, tail and ears of a Boxer. Both German Shepherd and Boxer make good guard dogs and they are affectionate to the owner and easy to train. You can't be sure her parents were purebred. They could also be crossbred dogs themselves.

Looks to be a lab shepherd cross which would also explain both traits u described I know at the shelter where I work that is what we would list her as but chances are she has other breeds mixed in depending were she came from. Defiantly not a pure bred though

When people ask you what breed Dunkin is you could say a Lowland Labshep! haha That will get them interested! Yes, she looks like a good old cross breed and I'm sure she will love you and look after you. Enjoy her!

Dear Krystalheart! Believe me I got surprised to look at the picture of your Dog! We had similar Dogs which we lost few months back because of some infection! The color, expression and the face expressions and all are strikingly similar to the Dogs which we owned! They were crossbreeds of German shepherd and Labradors! They were very intelligent and friendly Dogs. They were brown in colour with bit coarse hair coat which used to be shiny once they are brushed up properly! They had deep sound while barking! By the way I am a Senior Vet working on a Thoroughbred Farm and staying on the farm We generally prefer to keep cross breeds as they are much strong with heterozygous vigour! Before taking up this job,I used to practice for canines which I did for about 8 years! Hopefully your Dog must be a cross of German shepherd and Labrador! Thanks !

wow, I'm impressed, what you've mentioned is very informative. I think you are right for that. I was thinking that way too but not so sure, well, hopefully she was really a cross breed of German shepherd and Labrador.

Looks like she is a labrador but perhaps not pure bred! Any dog with the labrador temperament will be soft, gentle and make a great pet.

Definately not a pure bred dog, but a lovely mixture! Actually, my grandparents have a dog a lot like this one. The ears show that is is part labrador, but the hind legs being longer than the front are common of that of a greyhound or german shepherd. If I had to guess, I would say a labrador and german shepherd mix.

I also think she has a mix of Labrador but don't know the other mix, she must then be a Labrador - german shepherd mix.

She seems like a cross breed. Not to be rude, but she does resemble a mongrel. Thou not a pure breed, a mongrel is known to be street-smart, loyal and a good "bodyguard".
