I need help with my External Hard Drive

Hi! I'm having a hard time with mt WD Elements 1023. It appears on my devices yet it's not on My Computer. I read on their website that a Device Reset may help and not affect the files. Can somebody enlighten me with this? I'm not a techy person so I'm not that familiar with tech related terminologies. Please help. =(
