I already managed to change my sleeping habits before but after our major work with handling an event, My insomnia is back. I already had 2 glasses of milk and yet I'm already hearing the rooster's good morning greetings now. It's already past 4 in the morning and I'm still awake. Maybe I should try putting an eye cover or something. I want to go back to my sleeping habits, sleeping as early as 9pm or 10pm and maybe go jogging early in the morning to improve my health. What else can I try if the eye cover won't work?

i have a hard time sleeping at night also.
i am not sure what you do at night or during the day but here are a few ideas...
if you drink a lot of caffine then i would stop at a certain time. this is a major problem of mine. also my doctor told me to find something boring like reading a book (which to me isnt boring but to others it is) it puts some people to sleep. also if you watch tv as you are going to sleep then try turning it off. sometimes that will help me to fall asleep to the quiet instead of the noice of the tv.
not sure if that will help you any but it was a few things that help me sometimes and other times it does not. hope it gets better for you :)

Thanks crazzydolphin. Well, my morning routine is running errands and doing job orders from our clients if there are any for the day. If none, then I play with my baby boy nephew. =) I'm not a coffee person anymore so I already stopped drinking coffee for 5 years now. There are some times that I have to but that's just like once in a blue moon. =) Oh, reading a book isn't boring to me. I read book before bed time but it only leads to longer night of being awake. Hehe! =D Perhaps I'll try exercising in the morning. =)

exercising may help. this weekend i had no problem going to sleep and we did a lot of camping and fishing and walking trails and all. i fell asleep very easily. now i woke up a few times but i wasnt up all that late but then again it still was a little after midnight lol.
hope exercising helps you i have been thinking of doing the same after my husband goes to work and while the kids are still asleep other than that it is a little hard for me lol :)

There are lot of reasons why people are troubled with insomia. It needs to be determined before making any moves just to overcome it. Insomia is a common sleep disorder. It is a sleep disorder that has very much causes.Your state of mind has something to do with what you feel during sleep. In other words, what goes on your head affects your ability to sleep. That is why if you are stress, troubled, and being anxious of something, most likely, you really have a difficulty of sleeping at night.
As to my personal experiences has proven, I am the breadwinner of the family with four kids, I really have a lot of worries. Yes, honestly, I am a depressed person. I can't think well of my situation knowing that my income earned is not suitable for our daily expenses, that's why I really have to strive hard just to look for some means to support my family.
In contradiction to my first opinion, not all negative things in our life causes insomia. It has also something to do with positive things, like your excitement. Excitement is a positive feelings that has a positive reason why we are excited. Just like when you are about to get married. Try to prove that the night before your wedding day it is full of excitement that you could hardly sleep, that you feel you have an insomia.
Your physical conditions has something to do also with your insomia. When you get older as you can observe, your sleeping patern has change also. It is evident when I am observing my parents especially my my mother. Though my mother is a workaholic one, so I assume that during night she is already tired physically but she's not. I wonder why my mother go to sleep at 11pm and then she wakes up at 12mn..All I can say is I don't understand the pattern of her sleep. That is why I tried to ask her why?and she just answered me that she can't sleep and that she cannot force herself to go to sleep again...! This give me an interest to research of other factors that causes insomia.

Thanks for that inputs nitz_godinez. =) I chuckled when I read that part about excitement causes insomnia too. It always happens to me a night before a trip, whether a road trip or via plane. I always tell myself I have to sleep early but I end up awake all night instead. Haha! =D I sure do wish I could change back my sleeping pattern to normal.
Maybe your mother's anxious about something?

My late grandma was also a light sleeper at night but she takes siesta/nap in the morning and in the afternoon. Maybe at some point, sleeping habit varies. =)

:)) Haha...It might be right and maybe wrong! Well, actually I have tried asking her once, I said, " Mama, what happen? why are you keep on waking-up?," and she answered me, "siguro dai mao na ni resulta sa akong katigwangon, mgkadaku ang edad sa tawo mgkagamay ang oras sa pagtulog,". which means " maybe this is already the result of getting old, because as you become older and older your hours of sleep varies." haha..so presume!mwah..thanks

Thanks cher 913. What I'm doing right now is after having a glass of milk or 2, I try to stay in bed as early as I can and clear my thoughts. I might not be able to change back to my normal sleeping habits as fast as I changed it to irregular sleeping habits when we had an event to handle, but I hope I'd be able to change it back in time. =) Is melatonin a type of sleeping pill?

Insomnia is very annoying, and you might find that you will end up having to see a doctor as they might be able to help you out with the things that are worrying you, and this means that you would be able to sleep. If you are lying in bed and know that you're not going to be able to get to sleep, then the best thing to do would be to get up, as you don't want to be associating your best as somewhere that you're unable to get to sleep. When you can't sleep, get out of bed and read a book for 20 minutes and then try to get to sleep again.

I'm actually reading a book anytime of the day whenever I have a spare time. I also read a book before bed time. I'm actually a reader so reading a book only keeps me up all night instead. =) But thanks for the response. Maybe I'll try looking for a book that don't interest me at all. =)

i'm sorta havin' insomnia too. i have just moved to a new country coz my husband got a job here. i'm jobhuntin' at the moment but no bites thus far. so i end up bein' on the laptop all night, bein' on facebook, watchin' youtube videos, streamin' tv shows online etc. coz of that, i sleep all day. it's ridics!
i wanna sleep so badly and even though i'm exhausted, my mind just won't shut down. since i'm new here, i dunno if i should go to the doctor's and ask for sleepin' pills. i just hope that i find a job soon and my body will force itself to adjust to nromal sleepin' hours.
though once, i went through a good month or so of wakin' up at about the same time every night. between 330 - 400am. it was horribly frustratin' coz i badly wanna sleep but couldn't.

I feel you friend. It's really frustrating when you still want to take some rest but yet your body and mind won't cooperate. Have your tried milk before bed time or covering your eyes?

Thanks rashme317. =) I don't take a nap in the afternoon. I also drink a glass of milk or 2 before bed time. I don't drink coffee nor take anything with caffeine. Maybe I'll try exercising in the morning and dim my lights. I don't like to turn the lights off as it gives me a creepy feeling. Hehe! =D
