Hello, Has anyone made curried rice before? My husband and I visited a Bed & Breakfast in the Alford, FL last weekend for our anniversary and it was to die for! So I wanna try at it but wanted some feedback first.

I make curry basically every night and sometimes I add rice and it's pretty easy. Curry is just basically a spice blend and you can add virtually anything you want to as far as vegetables, meat, or rice goes. The basic spice mix you need is cumin powder or cumin seeds, ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, coriander, and you can also add garlic and onions for more flavor. Curry can be pretty versatile and there are a lot of other things similar that are delicious like tika marsala and bhaji styles. I love indian food and it is incredible for you because the spices all have incredible healing abilities, some even having anti-cancer properties.

I mainly make Indian style dishes but I've always been really interested in learning different styles of cooking from around the world, including Jamaican. What kind of spices and herbs do you normally use while your cooking? Also what kind of dishes do you make that are pretty signature to your culture? I always love learning of new exotic recipes to try out.

u can easily make in house. see any recipe in net and try any recipe. while cooking in water u can add onion pieces, salt, curry powder and any spices and vegetables. in my country india,we eat rice as plain rice(cooking just with water) and we will take it with any 2 varieties of veg curries(which we make seperately).we will add just one curry each while eating and we will finish rice with curd or yogurt. we eat rice and curries with hands only . and we also make biryani varieties (like u called curried rice) with rice and vegetables and some spices.we make biryani's with one or more vegetables and some spices in it. we also make biryani recipes with non veg like chicken, mutton, fish, prawns, and beef. in veg biryani we make jeera rice, lemon rice, tomato rice, green rice or palak rice, gobi muttor rice, mixed veg rice, methi pullov, curd rice, onion and garlic rice, coconut fried rice, carrot rice, tamarind rice, paneer, muttor biryani etc. spices and vegetables vary in each of my indian recipes. u can see one easy vegetable rice recipe in http://www.spiceindiaonline.com/vegetable_biryani/ and in non veg we make mutton biryani, chicken biryani, chicken dum biryani, prawns(shrimp)biryani, and many more. u can easily make in ur house (by seeing in net for any my recipes )or go for any indian hotel or restaurent in ur place for biryani and enjoy ur day .

I had it once before from an Indian Restaurant. Wasn't that bad actually, and I am a pretty picky eater. It was authentic, so I would make sure that you make it right, or you may be disappointed.

Hello moakamsg, I love curried rice. First time I get a taste of it was at a local Indian restaurant here in our place. I love Indian food although I am of different race and curried rice is one of those I can eat anytime. I love my curried rice with some shreds of beef because it can be more filling.

Welcome to mylot, moakamsg, I love curry but don´t use it too often as it´s not on my culture so I forget. But I understand your liking it so much. Here at mylot you can meet indian friends who will explain the secrets of a good curried rice. Don´t forget there are several awesome sites online that help you make any kind of dish, even with videos and voices.
