Hi to all mylotters! Once again I am here to ask you question regarding the things that you have learned lately. Our life is a continuous learning. As a teacher, my students are not the only one learning from me because I, myself is also learning from them. I believe that every time there will be something new that we can learn that make life exciting. It can be about our studies, our jobs, our relationships with others. It can be about anything or anyone else. Do share your experiences. Happy mylotting everyone!

Hi AnnieRose,
I'm taking a course to upgrade my professional qualification. It is work-related. I learn a lot of things during the course. I'm a little apprehensive because I would need to take an exam in July to obtain the title. I have my fingers crossed.
On the online front, I'm trying to learn something new. It's rather technical and I'm exactly savvy when it comes to websites and stuff.
I do believe we learn something every single day. But we never notice it unless we jot them down.

Somehow I'm not very good at self-teaching. I need a guide, a mentor to help me along the way. Because I have too many questions. I just need someone to answer them for me when I'm stuck.

Very true. I am designing a website too. I am just a beginner of it and every time I spend my time doing it I feel happy. It is because I am experiencing and learning something new. I hope that someday I can be a successful website designer.

I have learned so much in the past year. I have learned that thoughts are things and you need to watch what you think. I learned that I am the only one with the power to make myself happy, healthly, successful, and wealthy.
I have learned that real love doesn't hurt. I have learned that my children don't belong to me, I am just here to do my best to teach them this very lesson. I have learned that you don't need to go to college to start and run a successful business, but education is very important!

This is such a quality response! I also learn things from reading your post and the post of other mylotters. We should always be careful in what we are thinking. We have the power to choose and it is always better to choose things that are positive. We also have a control in our own happiness. I agree to everything that you say here.

Hello there, I totally agree with you that life is a continuous learning. Recently, I have learned how to install the hanger on the wall myself. In the past, I thought it was man's job, actually it is no longer the case. As long as we make an effort to prepare ourselves and figure out how to do it step by step, it is not that difficult. :-)

Good job Madona
I also feel happpy after I learn how to do things that I thought only older people or only men can do. Now, I know that there is nothing impossible once we have the determinatin to do it.

I am a voluntary language teacher for a Burmese family who lives in my country. I help them with their pronounciation and grammar and I also teach them new words. I am the teacher, but I also learn something from my students. Sometimes I have to double-check the grammar in my books for instanse if we talk about some expressions that I don't use much in my daily life and I learn new things that way. Danish is my mothertongue, but I am still able to learn new things about my own language. At the same time I learn things about the Burmese culture and the daily life in Burma because my students tell me about their country. It is very interesting to listen to the things that they tell me and I know a lot more about Burma now than I did in the past.

There are indeed many things that we can learn in this life. I enjoy learning. With this I can say that age is not the basis of haaving enough learning.

Lately I learned that racism is still alive and sick in this world. I have learned that some people never really get justice.

People judge most of the times... I also caught myself sometimes judging other people.Up to now, somehow we still feel that white are superiors and blacks are inferiors. Even how much we teach the world that everybody is equal, still we cannot remove those views.

Hi Annie! I, myself, learn new things every day from myself and people surrounding me. Recently I've learned that I can't take things for granted. Even the little things, because in a blink of an eye they can be gone and out of your life forever. Appreciate what you have in this moment and embrace everything your life has to offer. This has gotten me through a lot of things and makes me realize really how precious life is and how precious the things you have and the ones you love are.

It is true. We must not take for granted those people who are always there for us.. Our family, friends, relatives and others who help us to be in where we are now. Without them, we cannot achieve what we want in life.

i was sent to a new curriculum training and it was an eye opener for me for today's school beginning. i also learned changing themes of my PC. we are really learning new things every minute, everyday. we just don't put too much emphasis on that as long as it doesn't affect us negatively. we always notice the bad things that happen to our day to day living.nice post you have here pal. keep going, ma'am.

Hi annie,
Just last week, I received a memo that I was to be sent to an open water diving course for four days. This is in relation to my work as a coastal resource management officer and a fishery law enforcer. So I left my sidearm, desktop, laptop, and all paperwork in the office and went down to the university for the first day of theory on air and water under pressure, buoyancy and some videos on scuba diving.
The next day was a confined water diving course on a swimming pool, doing endurance swimming tests and use of SCUBA gear, diving mask and fins underwater. The last two days were spent on an open sea dive to 40 feet then down to 60 feet. I logged a total of three hours and forty minutes underwater for those training dives. Just last May 15 was our final written exam where I got 43 out of 50 test items.
I still can't believe it, after many years of spending my sea life on a boat without ever getting down to the water, I am now a PADI-certified open sea diver. I can't wait for my next diving schedule to see my underwater fish-friends again.

That is a great experience! You are great for you can do that. I don't know how to swim, so whenever I go to a resort with my colleagues and friends, I do not go to deep part of the swimming pool. I wish I could learn how to swim but it is such a long way to go.

I learned (again) that in the end you can trust nobody. That people find it hard to be straight and communicate and you can only be succesful if you believe in yourself and fight for your own rights (and amazing or not you get it). No matter if it's about the school of my kids, the bad economic, the bad doctor/dentist or suppliers.. if you dont fight you won't get your right.

I have been in a situation that the only one I can trust on is only myself and God. Sometimes, it is difficult to give our trust to people and we have no choice but to depend on ourselves. We are living in a world full of struggles so we must always be brave.

Hi annierose. Just this afternoon, I've learned from one of our speakers that our brain has two main parts the left brain that deals with logic, analysis, linear thinking, speech and activity and the right brain which deals with emotions, creativity, imagination, music and passivity. He told us that most of the time, we are using our left brain. However I forgot to copy the source of his information.

Thank you for sharing that with us. They say that if you are good in language and history, it means that you are left brain. If a person is good in mathematics , that person is right brain.

Hmm..I tried painting with acrylic and on canvass for the very first time of my life. The mentioned materials have been long sitting idle in the corner in my room, almost a year. I've always been chickening out when I would plan on start painting on it, I didn't have had any formal classes about it. I've only seen paintings and I was never taught by anyone, I'm pretty much a self-taught artist. And for the very first time, just today, I've mustered enough courage to hold my paint brush and stroke the canvass with paints. I've always been afraid that I would make mistakes and messed it up, that I would waste my pigments and materials. But just after the first few strokes, I said to myself that I can do this! And I got the hang of it and I'm hoping I'll do good in my very first masterpiece on canvass. The experience of discovering new things made me see myself in a different light. I guess I'll never get tired of learning and trying new things because it helps me build my individuality. Although it always takes courage to try new stuffs, I think doing things even if you're not brave enough to face it feels really good, once you've overcome whatever trial it is. I know being afraid wouldn't really do me good, and doubting my ability as well, but I've learned today that they are indeed spices of life so I would never resent myself for fearing and delaying some things because the right time will come and when it did, there will be a burst of energy and discovery that's really worth it.

That is good. Sometimes we just have to overcome our fears to be able for us to learn new things. I remember there are times when I will say I am afraid even I am not yet trying it. Now, I know that before I let my fear conquer me, I must first try.

Yes, every day we are learning things. We learn things unconsciously but if we give attention on it, we will surely get learning that will be very beneficial for our growth.
