Eeegad! My daughter has had reddish brown hair for as long as I can remember. Long, thick lovely brown hair. She likes to put Burgundy color on it. So the gal at the beauty supply store told her she needed a 'bleech kit'. She got that and this 'Raspberry Pizazz' color, comes home and puts the bleech kit on it. Twenty minutes later she comes in to show me and she is BLONDE! Ugh! So different from the reddish brown she has been for so long. I liked the color and told her it was odd but pretty. Now she is putting raspberry color on her hair. Just showed it to me and she now looks like a crushed raspberry! Oh my gosh! Has your daughter or other family member made a radical change to their hair or body, etc. recently? How did you respond?

This is why I started with the henna. It is cheaper than the hair dye made from chemicals and you can do it as often as every three days. I bought a pound of it in July last year. I had big white/gray streaks, and they still look copper penny colored, so I ordered some indigo to mix in. It is better now, and I have only applied it once. Someone on here said that henna is like putting varnish over the hair shafts. I would have to agree. My hair has not been this shiny and strong in years, and the roots do not show up badly when they grow in. Carmelanirel has been doing this as well. First time I used hair color from the store, probably Clairol, the grey streaks turned fuschia. Strange.

I keep forgetting about henna. I used it when I was younger and haven't seen any in years. Maybe I just haven't looked far enough. I will have to check this out. My daughter did the rest of the coloring and I will see how it looks in the morning. And I will do some research on the henna. Thanks.

My hair is slowly turning grey and it looks so dull and dark brown when it used to be reddish brown with copper highlights. I have been trying to get it back to that color. It is so long that if I die it costs alot so I have just been leaving it alone but I think it looks ugly. Not attractive at all. Hmmm. Glad you like yours though and the shampoo sounds great. Happy Days!!

Thank goodness it is only hair color and can be professionally corrected if it gets too out of hand. For now she can just wear the color and see how she likes it on a day by day basis.
I have dyed my hair different colors, one time I shaved one side of my hair...just ONE side. I thought it was cute, my dad told me never to do that again :)
No one in my family has ever undergone any major shocking changes...so far, so good.

I got a perm in my bangs once thinking it would be easier to fix. Ended up getting it straightened. My kids do all sorts of stuff to their hair but never this different.

That will be quite a difference. I saw someone in the store that had streaks of bright red mixed into her black hair. I think both colors were dyed. I have a huge streak of Orange Red hair, where my hair used to be gray. I use henna, and it has not settled down in almost a year. I just bought some Indigo to tone it down with. I bet the raspberry color is pretty, even if it does look unusual. Better she do it now than when she is seventy or eighty.

I think you might like Henna. I wish I had started it sooner. I have relatives that in their younger days had bright orange red hair, so I have the coloring to be a redhead. I think the indigo helped. Carmella uses both and it sounds as if she did not have much gray yet so it looks a lot like highlights.

Yes, Indigo is blue, but you put it over henna to get black hair. I mixed it in with the henna working on getting more of a red brown. Carmella sent me a PDF with proportions and information on mixing the two. There are lots of wonderful sites to check for information on henna and indigo. Some places call it hindigo if you mix it. I had huge stripes of grey in front, so for a while I have had the really bright red hair where it was gray. Another user on here was using it and it reminded me to try it. It coats your hair and mine is much shinier and livelier with it on.

Quite a difference is right. She did the second phase of the color and now it is sort of a pink color. She did the bleech wrong. She put the toner from the dye intot he bleech and she wasn't supposed to. So now it is pink. You're sounds interesting. I wish I could do mine. I am going to have to check into some henna. It is all good.

I understand your feeling. However sometime we need to change a little bit then we will know which one is suitable and we are more beautiful with it.
Currently i keep my black hairs back..because after changing for a while...i think black hairs are the most suitable with me.

Both the girls have dyed their hair black at one time. So have my friends. I will stay with the reddish brown. Each person must be happy with their choices.

Haha maybe she just wanted a nice change. It is hard though if she wants to go back to the original color because she wil have to grow it all out first. Does she like it?

Not really. That isn't what she was going for at all. She did it wrong. Is putting something else on it now. It is going to look funny growing out.

Well, going from reddish brown to blonde, and then to raspberry would be different. I seen something though that I thought was different, and actually cool looking the other day. Someone had just a small patch of their hair that was turquouise mixed in with their dark hair, and it looked nice. But to totally change a hair color? Unless it washes out, what if you do not like the look?

The turquouise sounds nice. Ya, to change the whole color of your hair is different. It was supposed to be burgundy not raspberry. Big difference. I still don't know why she bought it. Silly kid!

She was going for burgundy. If she didn't like the look she would just dye it another color.

ehehe... i think your daughter just wants to see how the change would look on her. =) anyway, the color will wear off, right? =) i would be surprised myself too, but i would try to find some good things coming out of the change, sometimes girls/women just like to experiment on their hair.. it builds our confidence right? =)

You're right! She is always trying something new and different. In due time the color will wear off. Experimenting is one thing but not doing it right is something else. She got the stuff from the beauty supply place and didn't know for sure how to do it.

I like the burgundy color in my hair that's I always used to color my hair. I'm Asian and it matches my skin color I like it when I was in the sun I can see the reddish in my hair and when it dark it is also dark.

My daughter used to always do the burgundy color and it was great. She choice a different color this time and did the steps wrong so it turned out weird. Using a different product is hazardous unless a person knows what they are doing.

Nope no one has made any radical changes around here. Though I'd like my girls to get their bangs back, I'm so tired of "so and so has no bangs I want to be like her" I'd like to get something fun done with my hair but no money to spare aside from getting dye at the store to hide those greys!

Oh my..that is a huge change. That blonde is very hard to maintain and can do a ton of damage to the hair.
My daughter loves to change her hair color. She did a blonde/red variation one time that looked pretty good on her but it took some getting used to. I have never been one to do big changes with my hair like that. I get used to something and usually stick to it..lol.

I hope she leaves it alone now and lets it grow out. She put the raspberry on but it wasn't the color she wanted. She wanted burgundy. This will take some getting used to.

Daughter of my daughter, who is an engineering student once did this at a beauty parlor, her hair is deep black, but after the dye it was blonde with black strands here and there, this is a modern trend among girls here these days.

Hair color is not the end of the world, will surely find a color that will match, but from time to time change is even wskazana.Pomimo the color came out wrong is important for you to support the daughter, not made ??fun of her, because then you lose confidence and none, even the prettiest color will not change.

She wouldn't be the first. I did that to my hair once. I didn't bleach it, but I did color in to the point where it became a reddish blonde color. It was strange at first, but I eventually got used to it.
Women in my family love to experiment with their hair, and so we color it, perm it, curl it, crimp it, streak it, style it, and you name it. My aunt is a hair stylist and so are two or three of my cousins and one of my cousins was even a hair model. We like to say that it is just hair.
My brother wanted to frost his hair once and sport the Johnny Storm/Human Torch look, and I was willing to help him with it. My brother looked like Chris Evans at the time, and he could have rocked that look easily.
Again, it's just hair.

I went platinum once. And strawberry blonde. My daughter and granddaughter love to color their hair too. Usually they do it with the regular box of dye from the store. My daughter just decided to get the stuff from the beauty supply store.

Maybe she just want some changes. But I think reddish can't appreciate me at all. Brown is just fine I love staring to those woman having brown long hair, especially when it is shiny. Its feels like lighted colored hair makes woman look younger especially when it much there complexions.
My brother use to change his hair color with a burgundy and its just fine. But honestly I don't want to make changes something in myself.I can see some people in my place with tongue piercing and that make me feel like ouch!

Actually she want burgundy and they told her she needed to bleech what she had already so the burgundy would take better. She did the bleech kit but did it wrong and got v ery blonde indeed. Then she put the color on and it is now pinkish blonde. This why I stay with what I know how to do.

Blonde may mean she ll become sexier.
But there's always this dull judgement they give to blondes because in my area most of them are **extrememly sexy in a bad way**.Anways its a good thing and every person has a right to make personally changes to their body, hell if I could make my hair blone I would without hesistation whatsoever!!!

Well, mom made changes in her diet and started to work out. When i heard that on phone I was really shocked. Of course, all she does is paperwork, so she needs some activities, but running? I never imagined her running in beach. Changes of her body is slowly seen and I wish here good luck. :)

I'm an Asian Chinese. So my family and I always had natural black hair. My youngest brother started to color his hair by himself when he was 17. It was cooper. So we were quite surprised but still acceptable as he was not bleaching his hair. Earlier this year, I colored my hair as well to auburn. I liked that color very much and it is not very obvious. My girlfriend liked the color as well. Anyway I just want to stress that we don't really have any unacceptable kinds of respond. But one advise is not to bleach one's hair as it makes your hair white sooner.

I was happy with my hair color when I was young but now it is such an ugly color and with grey and even white areas. Hard to color cause it grows so fast. I thank you for your input.

It's always shocking seeing someone you live with look totally different! But change is GOOD! and your daughter felt the need for a change maybe :) I am a natural born red-head and I like to dye my hair a bit darker sometimes. But don't worry because your daughter's hair can always turn back to it's original color!

Change is good. THis was just quite a change from reddish brown that she has been for years to blonde. I am a natural born reddish brown and have turned a yucky dark brown with grey to white streaks. I'm not worried. Just a very new look.
