Been Afraid to Try Even If I Think I Can

I have a friend and he is really good in English and is much more intelligent compared to me and he's 3 years older than me. Like me, he's still studying College but he pays his tuition using the money he earned online. He's job doesn't need much expertise about English but he can still manage and earned more than 200 US dollars per month. Last few weeks, I've been thinking that I am more proficient when it comes with computer compared to him. And that makes me think that, "If he can, why can't I?". I wanted to earn money to sustain my needs in my studies. I'll be 3rd year by this June and the tuition is getting more and more expensive. I wanted to earn from an online job like him. I want to generate money on my own.
Maybe this is because of determination. I may don't have the courage to have responsibility to do online job. As for now, I'm still thinking if I'm gonna apply for some job like that or not. The job is legal but there is a required total of hours per week. The classes will start soon and I'm not sure if I can still manage my studies together with the job. There are other job like making logo but I don't have work experience with that. I'm really a coward.
Any advise?

Well, you could ask him how you could apply. I suppose, once you are hired, there would be an orientation and training.
Perhaps you could communicate though the cellphone. If he is really helpful, he will take a time out just to tell you how and where you can apply too.

I agree with siplyd, you can ask him some details about the job and after you apply you will be able to learn more informations on how to work from the site. Don't be afraid to start something new. It sounds like a good opportunity and even if you realise later that this is not for you, you will know that you have tried. Good luck!

Believe in yourself. You can't say you can't do it because you haven't tried yet. Remember this, if you want it then work for it. Think positive and avoid negative energies. Appreciate your weaknesses.. because of them you would learn to become better than the best. DO NOT COMPETE and get rid of jealousy. That's the key to become successful. Keep it and hope to see the new you soon.

I don't think that you should ever be afraid to try things that you think might possibly work out for you in the long term. If everyone chose to live their lives like this then nobody would ever get anything done. I have taken a lot of risks during the course of my life time, and some have paid off whereas others haven't. I am glad that I took those risks though, because the only thing that we can learn from are the mistakes that we make, and we have to learn valuable lessons from them in order to progress in life.

If it works for you, you can only find out by give it a chance. I think I would go for it, if you can't handle it with school you can always quite (school or the job).

I also experienced that, and have been thinking how those people manage to earn much on their online job while doing other stuff such as studying college.
I also do consider myself coward but I believe that "if others can, why can't I".
Maybe we should not be pessimistic. Try to look always for the positive side. If online job is one way to help you on your studies, and you believe you surely could do it then do so. Don't be hesitant trying. The fact that you have enough knowledge into something that is more than enough you could offer in applying an online job. You could never have an experience doing something if you haven't try or tried doing it, anyway, there is no harm trying.

Hi rusale! I think it's very smart and responsible of you to think of getting a job while studying. Being a working student is not easy but in the long run, it is something that you will be proud of. If you know you need the money and you have the determination to fulfill both your responsibilities in work and school, then go for it! You may have to be strict with yourself when it comes to making a schedule that accommodates both your work, school, and perhaps household responsibilities, but in the end it will be worth it. And you're definitely right in thinking "If he can, why can't I?". Make that your mantra, something you can hold on to when things get difficult. Hope things work out for you. :)
