I have got 2 negative ratings :(

Harold_ks: You have not given in your profile in which country are you residing. mylot rating being brought down normally happens. In fact for me also when I moved from 9 to 10 star rating three or four times the star came down and went up. Your observation that one cannot satisfy all the people is right. We should respond only in respect of discussions where we feel we are strong and also in discussions started by our friends, if possible. Do not worry about it. Go ahead in posting quality responses--positive responses. your rating will improve slowly.

When I was newbie I used to experienced a decreasing rate.At first I was very sad and that I can't understand why? But lately I don't mind if my rating decreased, because I know I can't please everyone here and I might comment different from their expectations. So don't be sad about it,keep posting and don't be discourage about those negative ratings as long as you know you keeping yourself under rules. Have a happy posting! Harold...

If I were you, I would not worry so much about your rating. I would concentrate on having good well thought posts, responses, and comments. I respond only to the topics I can relate to and do a little proofreading afterwards. I really don't pay attention to the rating, mainly because I do not always know what it means. But, I know what I mean when I post discussions, responses, and comments.

hi harold! it's just normal to receive negative rating-- we just can't please everybody you know. :D well before, at first, it was really frustrating to receive such rating, but you know, we just have to expect it sometimes.

Your star rating will be decreased when you have a - rating. Negative rating mostly comes when you have a bad response or bad comments to the discussions. Try to post the contents with the best of you abilities. This will help you to solve it.

So a few negative ratings can affect our stars here? And how does that affect our related prospects like earning etc. Yes I think every thing counts, but nothing to worry friend, you can always get positive rating as well if some one finds your post worth it. This is part of the game here as I gathered it till now. I am least bothered about star or its color when I get it, I have heard some people don't get a star as well.

My star rating has not decreased and has not increased. I think it do happens sometimes we get negative rating. I am working hard to reach on the next level. I think it is always great to work on our strength in discussions so that we get more positive ratings.

i never really noticed the rating thing. i just post. the rest doesn't matter to me. don't take it personal. someone probably read something you wrote the wrong way. i know that you didn't intentionally rub anyone the wrong way. that's just the way it goes online sometimes.

bNo this has not happened to me et. I do hope it never happens to me either. I think it is terrible to have this kind of thing happen to someone.

Hi, Harold, don't be sad. For me it's hard to understand this rating system. Finally I decided to ignore it and just participate in discussions that are interesting for me. At the same time I give "+" to some users but I've never given a "-". You better stay cool and just have a fun in myLot!

Oh, i see many guys like you be upset when your star rating is decreasing. Honestly i really don't care about it. It is high or low...i still post my comments, discussions and topics. Better you shouldn't care about it, just post more discussions on topics that you are interested in.

Yes, I have experienced my star rating decreasing 3 points all in one day. It took me weeks to bring it back up to even a point. I was frustrated and tried to understand the reasons behind that in the beginning. Frankly, I think the Discussion Rating System in myLot is not the most clear cut thing although I trust it is quite fair. Eventually I just let it be whatever number I get and only continue enjoying the discussions here.
