If you are on a diet, Cheat Day is that one day when you allow yourself to indulge in some food which you would normally avoid because it is prohibited in your diet or because it is laden with all things delicious and bad such as sugar, fat, and the likes.
Having a Cheat Day once a week is actually encouraged in order for the dieter not to feel deprived which can lead to binge eating. Since tomorrow is our out-of-town trip with the entire family, I am allowing myself to consider it a cheat day so that I could enjoy all the food I want while enjoying time with my family.
How about you fellow myLotters, do you have your Cheat Days too?

Hello lady1993, I wish I could also go on a cheat day everyday, but apparently I have a weight problem, so I guess I will have to be satisfied with my once a week route My family is big on carbohydrates, so you could probably imagine how hard it is to resist those, but I am doing well, at least for now and hopefully the entire diet process

I am following (a bit looselly, I must confess) a diet (the Mediterranean diet) that a nutricionist gave to one of my closest friends. She encouraged my friend to have a zsplurge day once in a week. Thanks to that, she manages anxiety and the sense of deprivation a lot better. I wouldn´t call it a "cheat" day though, as it´s part od the game. I live on a budget, but manage to have one luxury in my life. It´s part of good quality life.

Hello marguicha, giving in on my favorite food once a week manages my anxiety and cravings as well. I used to go on a diet without those cheat days before, and I swear it was the hardest ordeal and it ended up not working at all. Good thing that the diet I am in now works fine Not calling it a cheat day seems reasonable because I agree that it is all part of the game

Making everyday special sounds reasonable to me. I wish I could do that, however I am a tad too sensitive when it comes to food. If I eat sweet for lunch, I would be having a hard time dealing with cravings in the evening. You are lucky that system works for you. My Once a week cheat days seems to work fine so I guess I will be sticking to it for a time being. Thank you for sharing cher913.

I am at an age of twenty one and I don't have any problems regarding my health and I am free to eat what ever I need. I think I am little lucky.

Hello wonderboy, you are so lucky! I wish I could be as lucky as you but then again, I guess this is just my fate Enjoy eating and appreciate it, if I may suggest. Because not everyone is as lucky as you

Yes, Sunday is my Cheat day . I eat everything I want with restriction and in moderation. Also Cheat day is the time where i give reward to myself for folowing my diet strictly for 6 days and help me to lessen my cravings from sweet foods.

I think we have pretty much the same pattern when it comes to cheat day, however I do not usually restrict myself with the type of food that I want to eat, but I do apply moderation. I can eat chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, but I could only have one scoop I believe it helps me curb the cravings for the next days that I will be on my strict diet mode again.
