I do not think we can assemble laptop, we can assemble desktop and we can change the accessories and we can make changes in configuration of Desktop easily than Laptop.
I think you should go with Branded because i think we cannot get assemble Laptop, I never heard anyone have bought assembled Laptop.

we should always buy branded things because we do not need to worry about the servicing of the products, I think, most of Laptop sellers give 1 year servicing for free and i think we do not get it on non-branded laptops.

Honestly I've never heard of an assembled laptop because these are almost always made by big companies (note: they are always branded.) Desktops PCs, can be assembled however, and there are lots of how to's on the Internet that tells you how to do so. These assembled desktops *are* always cheaper than branded computers so if you know someone who could assemble them for you then that's great.
Now if you really want a cheap laptop, a netbook or a sub-notebook would be a better choice. Good brands include the EEE PC line, the Asus Acer One, and those from Samsung. There's also a cheap Sony VAIO notebook from the YB series that may be to your liking.

I remember in the past most desktops were assembled because at that time a branded desktop was rather expensive. But today the laptop and tablet are much more popular and therefore the branded desktop is already not expensive. I haven't seen an assembled laptop yet. I doubt whether it is reliable because the laptop has a higher requirement than the desktop. So I don't want an assembled. I prefer to have a branded laptop. I have used my Dell laptop for several years and it still works fine. It is a good brand and the price is not expensive.

I have no idea. I do not currently have a laptop but would love to get one within the next year. I do not care what kind it is just as long as I am able to work on it without issue. I also want one that has a lot of memory so I can play FB games.

Over the years I've had a total of two different laptops and both of them were computers that we pretty much ended up with as a fluke. In saying that, these were laptops that were given to my husband as unworking computers (he likes to tinker with computers) and he was able to get the parts that were needed for them to make them work again. We've spent signifcantly less than we would have spent on one brand new laptop, but they both worked really well. We still have one of them and we recently sold the other one for a profit, despite the fact that we'd had it for over five years.

I think it is better to avoid buying assembled computers because when you buy an assembled one you don't get any warranty or any other promises to it and i an supporting you to buy a branded computer.

i owned in the past assembled,by me,desktop and they worked pretty good without problems in many cases people afraid about assembled desktop because they haven't the assistence....as regards laptop i think it can be a good idea too...there are many little producer selling assembled laptop which they are interesting or even the so called 'custom laptop' branded like origin pc for example they ae not really assembled because in reality it is branded orings but you can choose the hardware configuration you want and even softwares and they assemble all for you and giving assistence if you need so i saw some of them and in my opinion they did a good work!!
