E-Sports - New Media VS Big Companies

Now E-Sports have been growing exponentially in the past couple of years, mostly because a select few pushing themselves to their capacity and this is GREAT. But as E-sports get bigger more and more people want a higher standard, and more and more bigger companies want to stick their fingers in to see what they can milk out of the deal. I guess what I'm trying to ask is would E-sports be better handled by smaller people, and grow slowly as a self completing system, or have the big boys roll in with cash to exponentially grow the scene but deny the genuity?
