Do you ever get offened by some of the comments on mylot. I myself have, but in the same aspect I am sure I have said some offensive things myself. It's funny how your fingers can be just like your mouth. You blurt something that you shouldn't have said or you type and press send before you realize oh holy crap balls I shouldn't have said that.

SissyRose and for that matter anyone, I should put this on my info page for crying out loud, if I say anything that is offensive please know it was not meant to be and don't be afraid to question me on it. I'll most likely only appolgize
Even the guidelines say, ask if you are unsure. Sometimes like you said things come out or are misunderstood.
You could have subsituted another phrase between "before you realize oh holy ___ and I shouldn't have said that." but listen I am much too sensitive about that sort of thing. Holy what?

Me too. I sometimes see something funny and express it. Sure I like joking around too but so often a joke does not appear to other person as a joke because they are thinking about something serious. A question can confirm because quite often I get a feeling the other person doesn’t really know what I meant. I guess it is a balance for every individual. We can be treat something very seriously or look at it from a different viewpoint altogether. Only constant dialogue can fix it. – so keep mylotting, works for me
I know what you mean here Sissy, you have to be yourself and why shouldn’t you be, and besides you can’t be afraid to express yourself even if it comes out wrong. Were human and we even say something wrong sometimes. So what. Use an eraser, yeah.

We need to be always responsible with our comments and refrain from anything offensive from the posts. Sometimes, it can be very easy to be misunderstood. Always remember that we come from different culture and traditions. What we are used to in our own country may not be the same with others. We need to be careful with our words in order not to offend the sensibilities of other people. It is better to create friends than enemies. Some people hide behind the cloak of anonymity in the forums and try to speak out their minds but no matter if this is a virtual world we still need to be responsible.

I agree with you and I am usually quick to say Im sorry if I think that I have said something offensive, but with that same aspect I would like to think that because I have to be weary of others sensibilities shouldn't others be aware of how other people from other countries think differently as well..But you are right

Hrm, sometimes. But only because I'm not easily understood when I write something. My posts don't always reflect everything I know, because often I don't always see the direct need to tell everyone some things. This is especially if that something is and should be known. But because I don't mention it in my posts some members are quick to point it out to me, therefore telling me what I already know. It gets annoying, but it's best to explain and move on.

MyLot is rather like Facebook in this matter. It is so easy for the reader to read more into a comment than the writer intended. I think also the language and cultural differences add to this on MyLot. I'm sure that 99.9% of the members on here would not offend anyone intentionally. It is much easier to read the wrong message in the written word than when you are being spoken to I think.

Hi SissyRose, sometimes I get offended too but I usually don;t mind it. I am here to enjoy the conversation because I believe that most people here are nice. In the event if I feel as if the person is deliberately offending me, I just wouldn't mind it still, until I lose my cool and give that person a piece of my mind.
