I clean up my room today and change the bed covers and curtains. From color yellow, I am now using pink curtains, bed sheets, floor mats, and some covers for my stuff. I know some people who paints and colors their room with their favorite color. I have favorite color too but I usually change the color of the things in my room because I base it on my mood. My room is painted in cream color for a neutral base, then I change my covers with the colors that suits my mood whenever I am cleaning. I am wondering if you do this too fellow myLotters?

I like your idea of changing the colors in your room to match your mood. But, for how long would you keep the same theme? I have a regular schedule for changing linens, and it's every 2 weeks for beddings, and once a month for curtains. But, if it gets realy dirty sooner, then I have it changed right away. Most of my beddings sets are stripes with neutral or earth colors. For curtains, I have 2 sets, one is green-based and the other is earth-brown based. I like the feeling of a new set of linens in the house.

Hello friend, I also have schedule in changing the colors in my room, usually it is 2 to 3 weeks, but just like you, if it gets dirty soon, then I would have to change it right away. Also since my mood is one of the deciding factor on what color should I use, if things around me become unbearably boring, I change it as soon as possible even if it is not yet dirty. I love stripes beddings but I got mine in different colors. If you are able to see my room, it still feels like a teenagers room sometime because of the colors. But I know one of these days I will color it in neutral eventually. For now, I will still enjoy all these colors while I still can get away with it

I think, no matter what your age, you can go with what ever colors suit your mood and liking. If I wanted bright orange for my bedroom I would have it!

@ladyhemingway: Vibrant colors are great for pleasing your mood. That's nice and I would do the same for my daughter's bedroom. I think vibrant colors brings positivity to one's life. And, she needs a lot of boost. @timetravel: You're right. I know some people at their late thirties who still love vibrant and bold colors.

From yellow to pink - how sporting! Why was your "rainbow" discussion deleted? I started to reply, and when I tried to submit, it said it was removed for violations or something? I didn't see a problem with it! I am making my kitchen a sunny yellow one. For my bedroom, I'm sticking with an aquatic type color scheme - blues and greens - same for the bathroom upstairs. Downstairs dining room will be woodland colors - browns, greens, a bit of orange. Living room - undecided.
