I can't live without my calendar

There are people who cannot live without a watch because time is important for them, or because they are very keen in keeping their schedules. I cannot live without a calendar on sight. I have at least 3 calendars on my room because I always want to be reminded of the day. I also have pocket calendar and my cellphone got a calendar feature as well which can be very helpful when I am out of the house.
Some people find my penchant for calendars weird. But I think I just like knowing what day is it and I just love counting days to some occasions and events I am scheduled to go to. How about you fellow myLotters, do you like looking at calendars too?

Hi, I also like knowing what day it is but since I work during the night and follow U.S. time, I often get lost as to what today is. I do love buying planner too! I like to know what and when I did something to keep track of the events. It is very useful to have a planner and a calendar

I bought Belle de jour once (I think it was 2010). It has so many discount coupons but I never really did get the chance to use them. Even the journal seemed complicated to me I buy planners that are very simple. In as much as possible, I buy those that shows monthly date (without weekly and daily). It is much easier to plan when I see everything in one page

Oh, why didn't you use those coupons? I am big when it comes to coupons Anyway, I agree that Belle De Jour's interface can be a bit complicated and it is downright girly to the point of over designed. The Starbucks planner I find rather classic but too expensive

Hello girl_thinking, I used to work for company which follows US time and I understand how it can be confusing at time I guess that is one reason why I further develop my love for calendar. And yes, I love planners too especially those which has some discount coupons

I think that the wall in my bedroom would look rather weird without a calendar right on it. That is just the fact of the matter to say the very least. It is not even if I do really look at the calendar on most days, due to the fact that the date is on the computer. But the fact is that it has to be there or it will just leave a certain void right in my life.
I only like my calendars for the sense that it just feels wrong if my room or any room does not have on. It just feels like there is some blank space, some rather void right on the wall. There are just really many times where I just look around and think that something is really missing right in a room. Well what turns out to be missing is a calendar.

Hello megamatt, I completely agree with you A room without a calender feels incomplete, well at least for me. No matter where I am, it feels as if thee should be calendar there somewhere. I love how you put it into words, there couldn't be more apt way to describe it.

These days I don't usually look in a calendar.Sometimes when I forgot what the day and date I will have to ask somebody funny isn't it? And onething that I used to do is to look upon my pc and there I can see the current date and time.
About my schedules my organizer will reminds me of what will be the events for the day and the coming day.It will speak by itself every morning at 7AM.
Have a wonderful sunday friend!!

Hello asyria51, I also synchronize my wall calendar to my planner and organizer. It is an extra work but I am comfortable doing it and just like you, I tend to forget important things so, these things should all be updated.

I agree. I totally cant live without a calendar simply because I need to check on my schedules, work shifts, special occasions, and important meetings and dates. More so, a calendar will ease my prioritization schedule for my gazillion appointments...and a calendar looks good in my room and office as well.

I don't think that you are weird at all, or if you are weird I am weird, too I love calendars. In the past I had 3 or 4 different calendars, and when I see a beautiful calendar in a shop I often feel tempted to buy it (...even when I already have enough calendars )
I always keep my calendar in my handbag, and I couldn't live without it. It is the best way to keep track of the things that I have to remember like meetings, work, voluntary work, classes and birthdays. I don't have a very good memory so I write everything down. I usually look at my calender every day because I want to make sure that I don't forget anything. I keep it in my handbag because that makes it easier to check the calendar or write something down when I am away from my home.
My husband thinks that I am totally oldfashioned and ought to use the calender on the computer or the calendar on my cellphone instead, but I like to have a handwritten calendar where I can flip through the pages.

Hello Porcospino, thank you for making me feel that I am not alone with this affinity. Just like you, some people call me old fashion because I still use the traditional calendar. But while I have calendar on some of my gadgets, I just cannot out grow my love for the traditional because there is certain familiarity and comfort on it.

Hello Professor2010, thank you for sharing your views. I agree with you how important calendar is. I have to admit though that hindu calendar you have mentioned piqued my interest. I hope that it is also available here in our local bookstores so that I may get my hands on it and check it out too. Thanks!

An mobiles brings all of them at a place. A mobile phone has a calender as well as time in it. More over it helps us to put alarms as well as memo in it and they help of a lot. More over they help in communication. So i used to keep a mobile phone with me all the time. So that i can get time, date as well as memos.

Hello thewonderboy, I understand what you mean. The wonders of having everything in one gadget is really amazing, and I am one of those people who appreciates good gadgets. However, my love for traditional calendar is still very apparent up to this day maybe because of nostalgic effect of some sort.
