I know that it's hurting the business of some people, but what's the use of the internet if everything else would be for sale? I think there should be limit as to what is free and what's not.
About movies, I think those movies that are no longer 'showing' or those old films like a year or so should be free for viewers, afterall, where are you going to watch them? Pretty sure netflix is there but it isn't available and isn't inexpensive for other people.
Further, I think if they sell these products really cheap then nobody would want a pirated version of it, right?
But still, business is business, and I think in anything 'freedom' should be limited, but as to who decides what should be free or not, it will forever be a debate.
Good luck! Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

But of course we should not forget that the production of these games and programs they entail huge costs. Like say Blizzard, they almost went bankrupt, it was only after Final Fantasy that they got back to their feet, same with World of Warcraft, and now hopefully Diablo 3. But the point here is that it took them years to produce these stuff, and years of no money yet as returns. If they sell it too cheap, then where are they going to get the money to pay for the employees and stuff?
I do agree about the games and such, but I think the movies are too overrated, they have already gotten income when it was shown on the theater, so why should it be expensive still on video? Get what I mean?
These prices should be regulated. There should be something free, while there are others that need to entail costs.

I understand it, but I am sometimes annoyed by it. I mean, I'd happily buy the films and music I download, if they weren't so friggin expensive... especially music. Music is ridiculously overpriced, especially famous mainstream performers's stuff. A person with a budget, especially in not so improved countries struggle to buy even one CD, because they are just too expensive (and for example, itunes and stuff is not for everyone, some countries do not even have it and other dollar per song webstore). But I understand the war, because there are lots of performers, especially the ones who are not that wealthy or famous suffering from these, especially if most money goes to the managers, and also, if they are going to get another oppoirtunity for a next CD, depends on the sales.

Well you might have a point there but,at least in my opinion, the sales of the CDs shouldn't matter and actually I believe that the do not matter. If people like a musician they will find a way to pay you.I believe that the music industry should change completely...no CDs just uploaded songs free for anyone and just concerts for the musicians to make money...that way no companies will run the music industry, music would be extremely cheap as most of the money go to companies and not the musicians,etc...

Personally, I think this 'war' on piracy is preventing us, the internet community, from taking advantage of what the internet offers us.

Exactly...I mean internet is for freely sharing ideas, information and everything else you can.Basically,to be more specific, this war is about profit.Companies like Sony lose millions of dollars because of us sharing. But I believe that piracy began because of the high cost of watching a movie or buying a game...Instead of trying to stop piracy they should just reduce the prices. After all piracy can't be stopped because it's something that comes from the people
