I had this experience a few months ago, i was at a department store and i was about to buy a new pair of shoes when a saleslady offered me an assistance on the size i would be needing. She gave me a size to fit and when i was wat fitting the pair, it seemed like one of the shoe is bigger than the other pair but when i checked the pair they also have the same sizes. So i asked the saleslady if there might be something wrong with the size and she told me that the pair are exactly the same size, its just that our feet are not always exactly the same size with each other.
I came to realise that it may be true because i have also heard about it somewhere before. I have also talked about it with a friend of mine and he also told me that it is true that our right foot is not always exactly the same size with our left foot, same also goes with our right hand and left hand and there are even scientific studies that have proven this as he had told me.
Sometimes, i find it quite hard to believe that one's left foot is not the same size as the right foot because those also also coming from one person.
Are you also aware about this?
What do you think about this?
Thanks for sharing guys, would just like to hear some opinion on this.

My left foot is bigger then my right foot. I noticed this along time ago. I had to see a foot doctor once and he acted shocked I had one foot bigger then the other! I was so annoyed by this I never went back to him again! I go to a different boot doctor! Anyway I think it fairly common to have one foot bigger then the other.

i was completely unaware of this fact...but after reading this article i asked few of my friends and some elders who said , yes ....it is true....its so surprising that, we are with our body parts always..and dont know about them fully...its quiet surprising many times about the facts we come to know about our own body....

i am right handed and i always look for the right shoes to fit when i buy a new one. my mom said if you are right handed, your right foot will have a little difference in size than the other one. it will be bigger. i guess it is true.

Yep! I am a figure skater, and I am aware that both feet are not exactly the same. Good skating boots are sturdy and tight . . . I know that when I buy skates, my left skate always has a little more room than the other. I usually have some time of cushion to make up for it (because skating boots have to fit tightly in order to be safe). But with normal street shoes, I usually don't take much note of the difference.

I agree, most of the time the larger side is your dominant part. My right hand is larger than my left hand as well as my right foot is larger than my left foot. I wonder if the size of our brain works the same way to. If I am a right handed person then I use the left side of my brain most of the time. Then probably my left brain would also be larger than my right brain.

Yes I've heard about it happen to some people although I kind of certain that I'm not. Sometimes I like being symmetrical and sometimes I love the asymmetrical things. In your case maybe you need tailored hand made shoes if that will make you more comfortable.

Hi cyclopz, my left foot is a bit bigger than my right. I think this is normal for I notice that my son as well as my nephews having different size of hand and foot too. The only different is that some right sides are bigger whereas the others are their left. My hubby is the same. When buying shoes I always try my with my left foot. My left side would be uncomfortable for it would be rather tight, if buying shoes I haven't tried on the left
Have a nice day

Since I was young my one foot is about a half a shoe size bigger then the other one. I thought maybe as I grew into adult hood that it had changed but I was wrong. On my birthday my then boyfriend took me out shopping. He bought me some awesome new heels. I had to try on two pairs of the same size just to make sure it wasnt a manufacturers defect... nope it was just me my one foot being bigger then the other lol.

I have known about this since childhood. I believe it to be true too. Its not like its a size difference or anything. Just a slight difference. All ya got to do when buying shoes or gloves try things on the side that is slightly larger. No problem.

Some people's feet are so different in size that they need to wear extra innersoles or something else to correct the difference. Both my feet take the same size shoe, although one is longer and the other is wider. That's it, one long skinny foot and one short fat one make a pair.

I have a size 8.5 American size in shoes. Sometimes, I will have to get a half size larger in certain European styles. If the shoes are good quality, even though my right foot is a tiny bit bigger, I will not even notice. However, most of the shoes made are being made by slave children in China. The quality just isn't there. I was at an Urban Outfitters a couple years back, and while they used to carry Vans(I bought some Mary Jane's for $10)they now carry cheap tennis shoes from China. I tried on several pairs, and each one was defective. One of the male clerks made a nasty face at me because there were several pairs I left on the ground(they were hung up on a hook). But he never asked me if I needed help or anything, so I left as many pairs on the floor for him to straighten up as possible and left the store amazed they are really going downhill.

It's true. Right foot is a little bigger than the left foot. The difference is not visible but can bring problems of comfort. I have a bigger right foot because of fingers that are bigger in fact. I know that good shoe makers take care to make shoes taking into consideration this fact. Also the length of the legs are usually different, the right one is a bit longer!

Often the difference is very small, but many people have this. My husband does. The shoe sales person says to buy for the larger foot, which makes sense. You are probably not symmetrical in any part of your body I know that one of my ears sits higher on my head than the other. None of us think about it much but it is true.

Nothing is perfect! Think one foot would always have a difference to the other and normally it won't be a size bigger, guess it would just be slight that it's the shoe that would adjust by stretching a little bit.

It is normal i think, most of us use right hand regularly and then a right side of our body is bigger then the left side: right foot is bigger than left one, right chest is bigger than left one, etc...
However it is not too big different so that we don't need to worry to much when buy shoes, clothes, etc..
Better you go to buy shoes in the afternoon, when your foot is the biggest in a day so that you can find exactly size of shoes for your foot.

I notice that with my feet its not a big diffrence at all but, if i buy a pair of shoes that are a little tight, my one foot its like ok i can where them and when i put the shoe on its like well these are going to kill my feet.
