Let's face it, we all commit discrimination at times but we feel bad when this happens to the people we love or to ourselves. How would you react to people who are discriminating others for how they appear or with their odd behavior? How would you feel and react if this happens to you? I usually don't feel good if this happens to me. I already experienced this and all I did was cry.I couldn't fight back because I don't know how. How about you?

Join the club if your also facing it! And your not the first one and unfortunately you won't be the last! Cliched term but it has stood the test of time. Uh mean give them the cold shoulder treatment mate! Personally if they can't see past their blinders, then why let them gain entrance into your mind so freeze them out! Then let the ice thaw in its own good time and see if there is any change! If its meant to be you will gain acceptance and if its not! Well then no need to sweat, they are of no importance!! Live a good and healthy life!

I guess you're right mysticalecstasy. But what if everyone else does that to you? How would you react to it?

I will definitely try that mysticalecstasy. It may take a process on me but I will definitely start with that. Did you have to change or you just stayed as you are and carried on?

Exactly what i posted! I used to care about that a lot! It got my whole psychiatry messed up! Now i don't give them the time of day! Life is short! No need to waste it on people who don't give a nickel about you! Spend it on ones who do! And it really does work! Harder in the beginning but practice makes it perfect!!!

Its not always possible to act on it , I mean sometimes you're just made helpless by the circumstances and it gets hard to even think let alone do some think. Sometimes people that do such a think could have some strong reasons that on their part justifies their seemingly bad decisions .
Have you seen the movie crash , it really dug deep on a similar issue , parts of it were racism . Most of all it was neutral or at least seemed to be and really diverse it actually won an Oscar for the best movie.
Anyways , I'm getting off topic , I feel I'm not in a position to truly comprehend this issue but I can see that you've been on the receiving end of it .Hence I don't clearly know what I would do , it depends , I mean some times it just seems fair when you're being discriminated against .
For instance if you have a surname similar to Osama Bin Laden and that arouses suspicion then you cannot really frown upon the people that are suspecting you to be a threat:
"Sins of our fathers"

I'll find that title and watch it. Seems like interesting movie. =) How about when you're being discriminated with your appearance? How would you fight it?

I think I would try to talk my way through it or may be I'll make them(the discriminators) realize that I am cooler or I look better and hence am more superior. That might make them feel like if they discriminate against me they are actually discriminating against themselves.
I've never felt the need to try it but if you think about it , this could work. What do you think?

I think it's worth the try. I'll try your advice, even if it'll mean I'll become a loner. At least I won't hear and feel the discrimination anymore. =)

Although I loved my mother dearly and she loved me too but when it came to choosing between me and my brother she would always please him and that hurt me. I accepted it as life moved on as one cannot demand what is not natural.

Discrimination is something that sadly really has all too often right out there. It really is something that really saddens me when it really happens but you know what, there are just many things that people in all walks of life deal with. There are just going to be many times where it is rather harsh to just stand back and rather just see a lot of the awful things that are happening.
The most frustrating thing of all is that there are times where many people are going to discriminate against each other. And sadly in the end, they won't even know it. There are just times where we are going to have all kinds of conceptions and until proven very wrong, they will remain in line. Or as a teacher once put to me, we're all prejudice, it's just some people are less subtle about it.

We are discriminated against at every step, but in some cases, otherwise it is called, sometimes we're talking about intolerance, lack of acceptance, but all are pezejawy dyskryminacji. To unpleasant experience just changed all our lives, makes some fear or anxiety stays with us longer to always.

That's very true alutka. Acceptance has been an issue for me but I guess, like one answer above, I'll just give it a cold shoulder and let it be. They won't feed my starving tummy anyway if I give them so much attention. I'll do my best to stop the bleeding and be stiff at carrying on.

I was also hurt but never fight them back. I cried and cried too but never let them see me crying. I just let them realize that they are wrong but in a good way too.

Let's face this, too. No one has the right to judge others. "All men are created equal." No, we are not the same, but every person has something to share with the world to make life better. Discrimination is an indication of being uneducated. Now let's be responsible, honest and truthful and most of all, let us respect our fellow human beings. Don't worry chan, don't even give the discriminators the satisfaction of being affected by them.

I don`t care too much i don`t consider myself to be too important and i don`t consider the others to be too important either.Probably we should be very upset if the state is discriminating us but if it`s a particular person we should leave him/her alone.

A friend told me that if people around you doesn't want you, then you can just go and create your own world. Find new friends, it's much more easier than pleasing other people to like you. Do not bother looking or listening to those people who discriminate and say bad things to you. Just ignore them and stay away from them as much as possible.
