What's wrong with being a virgin??

I have come across someone in my ym account (there's a messenger feature there) who wanted to be a friend, she posted her age and gender (19 f) then was wondering if we chatted before. Since I don't chat anymore with strangers, I brushed her off by saying that I never talked to her nor am interested. I think I politely brushed her off. Then today, when I opened my yahoo account (for email) she left a note: "Sure. You're probably still a virgin anyway."
What was that about?
I wanted to react but I know that it will just make the conversation longer. But what's wrong with being a virgin? Should a person be sorry for another because she's a virgin? I don't know about anyone else, but I find people who remain virgins as strong women who won't just give it up because everyone else does.
What's your view on this notion? Thanks in advance for the responses. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

that is funny! how come she said that? but i guess that stems from their culture. I have seen Western movies that bully those teens that are still virgins, they would torment them even in public.. i also do not see the reason for doing that.

What's weird is that I think she was Filipina. I was really weirded-out seeing the comment. But I decided to just ignore, else there will be lashing out early in the morning hahaha..
Yeah, they do that over there, don't they? I guess they are so afraid of being 'left out' that they'd want to give it up to just anyone to be 'in'. It's sad because most of the first-time experiences are not that great at all. It wasn't with someone really special, it was just for the sake of doing so. It's sad really, and I'm still glad that our culture isn't that way - well hopefully it will stay but I'm worried.
Thanks for the response! God Bless!

it is really scary to think that they have that kind of mentality, being a non-virgin is in..weird huh? Plus she is a Filipina? what the heck is happening to our teens now or to our society even?
I as a mother and i have a daughter, i am really worried, i do not want her to grow up with such mentality, that is why i try my best to show her how to value herself and how i wish there would not be a drastic change with their generations.

She sounds pretty immature to me, as of course there's nothing at all wrong with being a virgin. To use the issue, whether anyone is a virgin or not, of them being a virgin as a sulky piece of backchat indicates to me that she has a lot of learning and a lot of growing up to do.

You are right, the person does sound to be too immature to be opening such things. It's good to say though that he/she has never tried contacting me again. Perhaps he/she realized how stupid she/he sounded like. hehehe..
Thanks for the thoughts, truly appreciated them! Have a great myLot experience ahead!

I just read the other messages where someone says it could be a guy, which of course it could be. What I said still (just in my opinion) still stands, whether it's a guy or a girl.

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin. I think the media has truly affected our mindsets about remaining pure. Copulation is suppose to be sacred and should be only done with married couples. It has brainwashed our minds that losing your virginity at an early age is pretty cool which is practically the opposite.

from a Christian standpoint. being a virgin and saving yourself for marriage is what God wants you to do. it is Biblical and i think that it is important to wait until you get married. you are right in saying that by remaining a virgin, you become a strong women, not easily yeilding to temptation.

I dont hink there is any problem in being a virgin not only because it is their choice but it also doesnt affect anything on a basic relationship. They still they and talk and have fun. Being a virgin is a choice and doenst make people a defect.
Some people must think that virgins are held back but i think that that is just a misconseeption.

I don't feel that anyone should wrong to be a virgin. We all start out in life that way. there's no reason blame for remaining avirgin. it shows you will be selective in who you lose this virtue to. Sometimes it can be the first person that we are attracted to. for others, it may take a lifetime to find. Having pride in yourself and your beliefs is what truly matters. It is not all about how quickly virginity can be lost. Remaining that way has honor and praise too.

Virginity has to be given to someone that we love to if and only if after marriage.
You should proud with your virginity, just considered as a dog who barking to those who try to judge a virgin as a weird or whatsoever.
Only the weakness who surrender, only those who strong and dare who fight to the last breeth.

The person who told you that maybe could not accept that there's someone who just ignored him. He maybe wanted to catch your attention but unlucky to him because you are not that type of girl that he's looking.

Don't pay attention to stupid people's opinions. They think they are adults or better if they have done "adult things" and brag about it. Maturity and coolness don't start with sleeping with the next guy just because it's embarrassing to be a virgin, that's just silly. I resdpect those people more who are actually mature enough to wait for someone who deserves their virginity.
